Oh yeah, he did not have his phone to confirm but he could remember slightly that he did that when he visited the country and his brother bought the cake for him.
He could not hold back a pleased smile as he reached and rubbed the boy's head. His silky hair got rumpled under his touch. The boy met his gaze with his light-colored eyes and smiled happily.
"I am very grateful you bought this for me," he told the boy sincerely. He never expected the boy to look for what he liked to buy for him.
If the boy bribed him with cupcakes from his favorite baker who was world known for his great skills, he found himself falling into a pit. The appetizing smell that filled his nose forced him to close the box and placed it on a table.
"I don't think I will be able to go with you. I can not leave just because I want to but I want to," he told the boy vaguely.
He pressed his lips hoping the boy's genius brain will not overthink what he just said. He might hate his father but he did not want the boy to live with the knowledge of his father as a kidnapper.
"I will talk to dad. He said you are busy preparing to go to school but you can spare only a few hours for me, right? Dad told me he won't be able to attend because he has to live the country during the weekend."
That information was gold to YanJun. Knowing the master of the house was going to be out of town, that was the perfect time to try implementing the perfect escape plan. At least he will be able to meet his girlfriend before the man gets back.
If luck is on their part, they might be able to hide away from him in a place he will never find him. He would not mind doing that even if it means he will have to give up all he loved to hide like a fugitive.
Well, that was a dream for him at this moment. He has been greatly humbled that he almost could not afford the luxury of freedom from that man.
"I will tell you that you want to come with me. I wish he was going to come too," the boy spoke painfully.
It made his heart ache knowing how lonely the boy will be if he does not go with him. "What are you going to be doing?" he had to ask the boy with interest.
The loneliness of having no one to watch him when he goes to perform will be very sad. He knew more than anyone what the feeling was and how much it will hurt no matter how hard he tries to hypnotize himself that was okay because it was not.
"I will sing one of your songs," Jason replied excitedly.
YanJun sat down and looked at the boy. "I want to hear you sing it before anyone else does," he told the boy completely captivated by the boy's cuteness and the confidence he had in himself.
"I don't want to do now but I can sing something else if you want me to?" the boy asked shyly.
"I thought I was going to get an exclusive performance but I must be wrong," YanJun commented disappointedly.
"I will give you an exclusive performance when we return," the boy replied confidently.
As much as they say confidence cannot prove a non-existent talent, he believed this boy was smart enough to do the right thing. If his voice was not pleasant . . . He was not going to put that as an option.
He believed the boy was going to do well. "I wish my dad was going to come," the boy murmured sadly.
He reached and touched the boy's hair. "What if I try to persuade him?" YanJun asked warmly.
"Really?!" the boy's eyes brightened. "If we both try to persuade him, he might come, right?" The boy asked hopefully.
"Most likely," he replied with a sure nod. The man doted on his son so well that he believed the boy's persuasion was going to be enough but he wanted to try since he felt the urge to put in the effort to see that the boy has someone to watch him from the crowd.
"Thanks," the boy appreciated sincerely as he threw his hands around Wen YanJun's waist and hugged him tightly.
He was taken aback but he still reached to caress the boy's hair. "Did you have fun in school today?" he asked the boy when they separated from the heartwarming hug.
He could not help but feel that boy must feel very lonely in the large house when his father is always busy. It was no wonder that he had enough to play with and still know a lot that an adult like himself was yet to learn or he might never learn.

"My son said he wants to bring you along to his talent show. I will be too busy to attend although I will try to see if I can reschedule my weekend," Lu Mingyu told YanJun when he joined YanJun on the bed.
"I want to go with him," YanJun agreed as he turned to look at the man lying beside him. They were so close his nose was filled with the scent of his shower gel.
Lu Mingyu looked at him in disbelief. "Why do I sense something else?" he asked suspiciously.
"I don't want him to be without anyone," YanJun replied seriously.
"Okay, I will have a nice cloth tailored for you," Lu Mingyu agreed faster than YanJun expected him to.
"I don't need the clothes. I have enough," YanJun immediately refused. He did not feel comfortable taking things from anyone.
The few years he spent away from home taught him that there was nothing given freely. His brother further proved it with his dealing with Lu Mingyu.
Lu Mingyu moved close to him and touched his hair. "I want you to wear something better you also deserve it for being good all this while."
YanJun swallowed as he was forced to nod after the master of the house he was locked in gave an order.
