Baby Versus Fish

Hmm. I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to do this as a baby because I'm very slow, my hands are tiny and even if I can catch it with my hands, I don't think I have the strength to lift it out of the water with my bare hands, because of how heavy it looks.

But hey, I can't put an idea aside without trying it. So let's see if I can do it first.

"Yea, I wath right. I can't do it."

I say as I lay on the grass tired after numerous failed attempts to catch the carp.

It's dark now. A little eerie, of course. And there could also be predators, so I need to find somewhere to sleep as soon as possible.

I look around with my appraisal. Analysing every tree in sight until I find a large oak tree with a small hole in its bark.

I walk over to it and I learn that though it would be a tight fit, I can fit my whole body inside.

I crawl in feet first, and end up laying in lotus position, snuggling up to his soft, blue blanket. It's pretty comfortable, not as hard as one would expect.

Naturally, I am hungry, but my safety comes first. For now I can think of a plan to catch the fish tomorrow. But for now, I have to sleep.

The night passes, and the cries of owls and wolves come to an end as the sun sheds light across the forest, sending a beam of sunlight onto the eyes of the little baby boy from beyond the hole. Waking him.

He opens his heavy eyes before slowly crawling out of the bark. Birds sing all throughout. Adding to the beautiful, serene view of the trees, grass and clear blue sky.

The ridiculously young child begins to perform an entire warmup and stretch routine. After about 30 minutes, he is done.

"Oh yea. That feels great. Nice and loose, ready for the day.", I say with my hands on my hips. Unfortunately, there's a minor problem…my diaper is full…

Darn this baby body. I need to start training myself to hold in waste. Fortunately, I'm alone here.

He unpins his fabric diaper, slowly dropping it, releasing the rancid odour of feeces. Doing his best to not be nauseated by the smell of his own bodily functions, he takes it off.

"Time to go wash up."

I carry my dirty diaper to the pond. Sure I want to get clean, but I don't want to mess up the water that I'll be drinking later. So, how should I do this?

The baby walks up to a nearby tree, and using his bare hands, digs a hole. He scrapes the waste into the hole and buries it.

He walks back to the pond, crouches down and does his best to for his hand in the shape of a cup…a very tiny cup, before scooping a handful of water and quickly moving it to his diaper which he laid on the ground.

He starts washing his the diaper, regularly going back to get some water. After a few minutes, finally his diaper is clean and he lays it down in a little patch of sunlight near his sleeping tree.

Now with that done, it's finally time for the nude and hungry baby to get some food.

Last night I came up with the idea to use my blanket as a net to fish the carp, however I'm going to need to work really hard to pull the it out, considering the fish is slightly more than half my size. But here goes nothing.

I grab my blanket, and hold 2 corners on each hand. Shaping it like a hammock, I gently please the middle area in the pond, trying not to fluster the fish.

Slowly, I walk along the side of the pond, dragging the blanket that is heavier because of the water resistance. I approach the golden scaled carp from behind. It hasn't noticed me yet, fortunately.

As soon as I believe I am close enough, I quickly wrap the blanket around the fish. I join all four corners into both hands, completely trapping the carp.

However, as expected, It's not over yet. The carp has a sudden, hard tug, that almost puts me off balance. Fortunately, I had already anticipated that and planted my feet and love red my center of gravity to make sure.

Now the fish and I are in a tug of war. I'm obviously at a disadvantage in this weak, 8 month old body. So the carp begins to slowly drag me. My feet sliding closer to the pond. If I fall in, I would fail to get meat and a decent amount of food. I can't fail here.

I grit my teeth, every muscle in my body put to work. I let out disgruntled, high pitch, baby groans akin to crying. My feet start digging into the ground the more the carp flails around in desperation to live.

Suddenly, my feet in the ground come across a hard surface. A rock? That's great for me. I set my feet on the rock and lean back, putting all the force on my legs.

I begin moving my tiny hands slowly up the enclosed blanket. Doing my best not to lose my grip. Every second that passes is putting great strain on my undeveloped body. My legs trembling from weakening, my shoulders aching, my core tired and my neck feels like it's about to burst from how much tension I'm putting on it. It would be very easy to give up now. But no, I've made it this far, I can't just stop without getting anything.

I pull more and more. Now the fish is at the very edge of the pond. Just a little more and I'll have my breakfast, lunch and dinner for the day. BUT FIRST!!!!

"GRUAHHHHHH!!!"

I let out a loud, disgruntled, high pitched shout as I finally get the blanket out of the pond, dragging the wrapped carp closer as it flips around in search of water. I hold it down for a few minutes until it stops moving.

After no less than 5 minutes of an extreme tug of war, it's done. Suddenly there's a ping in my head and a panel pops up.

"Oh, I goth those upgrades, awesome."

Anyway. Now how will I cook this fish considering I never learned to start a fire naturally? And how will I eat it without teeth…?

"Haaaa", I sigh.

I guest I have to eat it raw, huh? And I heard that carp tastes terrible, ranked one of the worst edible fish. Well, what was I expecting? It's the only thing I've seen so far that I can eat.

"Bon'appethith, I gueth", I say as I start using my tiny hands to rip the cash as cleanly as I can with my bare hands. I put small pieces into my mouth and swallow immediately. It tastes horrible and the texture of completely raw fish feels weird on the the tongue.

After about 10 minutes of this and eating about a 3rd of the fish, I'm finally filled up.
