To grow old together

After freshening up, Rainard sank into a chair, to relax himself. His hours spent with his sister had been a source of joy, and he leaned back, embracing the comfort it brought.

Just as he had settled in, a sudden knock on the door compelled him to rise. He made his way to the entrance and swung it open, revealing the figure of his father waiting on the other side.

"Father," Rainard promptly pulled the door open and let his father inside.

"I hope I did not disturb your rest," Juan said as he walked toward the sofa chair and settled on it.

"Not at all, Father," Rainard answered and went toward him. Juan asked him to sit down and Rainard took the seat at the edge of the bed. He wondered why his father suddenly came at this hour.

"Did you and Zara enjoy the musical event?" Juan asked.

"Yes, we did," Rainard admitted.
