Onset of tragedy

Kate arrived with serious injuries but not without the V25 solution. The village had been ravaged with strange deaths and sudden disappearance of the natives of Vinda, a village located on a small Island of Vikavika. One astonishing thing was common to all the deaths that occurred- its victims had their eye balls popped out and taken away. "What on earth could such perpetrators be doing with the eyes of innocent villagers, where on earth could they be, and what have we done to deserve such a dastard act?" asked Kate.

The night had suddenly turned day time for these people, they no longer sleep with their eyes closed for fear of the unknown.

Vinda is usually very cool during the day and somewhat hot in the night, an unusual weather condition! All these were not so before now. Juganda in his usual way had woken up very early in the morning and went into his farm. He was a cattle farmer. He noticed a strange movement in his farm and an unusual bleating of his animals. Putting his light on since everywhere was dark, he moved at every corner to find out what the movement was- has anyone entered into the farm, or could it be wild animals? The closer he got to the direction of the noise, the louder and more frightening it became. At this time, Juganda had become more careful. Few kilometers to the movement, a waterlike creature swallowed up the farmer at the speed of light. One hour later, Kemba his wife walked into the farm in search of her husband but never saw a trace of him.

This disappearance put the entire village in a state of confusion. Kemba couldn't explain what had happened to her husband, the cattle were in disarray. By this time, the village police had arrived the scene and was interrogating the young lady who was crying profusely.

Kate, one of the police detectives pondered over the response of Mrs Kemba. She took some sample of what looked like blood at the spot where Juganda had suddenly disappeared. One leg of his shoes was found and a cutlass which he had wanted to use in defense of his cattle against the wild animal which, however, turned out not to be.

Back in the office, Kate had serious discussion with Mr.Timbo, a specialist in forensic science and geography with a major in nature sciences. He told Timbo that she noticed large moisture in the area where Juganda's shoes and cutlass were found.

"But what amazed me was that there was no tap, no river or any form of stagnant water around. Could this be a natural phenomenon? But it would have affected his animals. But, no... no... no it only affected Juganda. That can't be! See, Tim..bo we must unravel this mysterious disappearance"

At exactly 6:30 P.M. on Monday two weeks after the unfortunate incident, Molonga the village king got a distress call that his only son was found in the pool of his own blood with his two eyes popped out and as the former, the location of the incident moistened. The king summoned his council of chiefs to look into the situation. Their meeting was fruitless as they were divided on the strange event that had befallen them- some were of the opinion that the horrible event was more of spiritual than natural.

By this time, the King could not control his temper over his only son's death. He needed to do something very fast to save his community and his throne.

 "Dogo, Dogo" called the King.

Dogo, one of his courageous and faithful servants.

"Yes, sir", answered the servant.

"I need you to go to the house of Katunga, the witch doctor, tell him that his presence is needed urgently".

Meanwhile, Roseta, the King's wife overheard the King's command and quickly went to Kate. Roseta had never been in support of her husband's opinion- that the village's problem was a spiritual one. She had always wanted a scientific investigation into this matter. For this reason, there had always been misunderstanding and quarreling between them.

Dogo had just arrived with the witch doctor. Before the King, the witch doctor was chanting, consulting with the dead spirit to ascertain the cause of his son's death and what strange thing had befallen them. Suddenly, an unexpected wind swept amidst them and every one scampered for safety. The witch doctor couldn't escape the wrath of the angry nature; his lifeless body was seen on the path way to his shrine. The only hope of Vinda had been shattered and the people's fear had increased. Who would they run to? Every one lived with the thought of who could be next.

Roseta engaged in a serious chat with Kate and Timbo. They were discussing the outcome of the laboratory test carried out on the farmer's blood sample. They also compared the sample of moisture collected from the farmyard with that of the King's son.

"There seems to be some similarity in the water liquid samples of both victims", said Timbo.

There is something strange with this water structure, that, I can't understand yet. It doesn't look like the natural water. It seems to me like a human structure than the normal water.

Heavy thundering with vigorous wave was experienced some kilometers away from Vikavika Island. People struggled to safety. The terrible lightening destroyed houses and the vigorous wave swept some away. Timbo with his team had earlier received a distressed alert in their IT department, and all hands were on deck to keep the Island safe. Normalcy had now returned. One hour into the normalcy, screaming and commotion was heard. It was Parkas Avenue, two streets away from Timbolus Laboratory Center, an environmental research center owned by Timbo. Parkas Avenue was under attack by this "moisturous" creature. Dead bodies on the street with their eyes popped out. All these occurred at the speed of light. The police had arrived with teams of investigators from the research center.
