The Lord Protector is Chosen

A few Months after the battle between the Royal army and the Free Folk army news had only just reached the Seven Kingdom's about what happened to Robert Baratheon at the battle of Castle Black.

This news created a shock wave throughout the Seven Kingdom's because now who will sit on the Iron Throne.

Joffrey Baratheon is only 2 years old leaving him unfit to rule leaving the only choice it to have someone become the Lord Protector of the Seven Kingdom's.

The first option was to have the current Jon Arryn as the Lord protector of the Realm until Joffrey comes of age.

But there was also a great majority who supported his brother Stannis Baratheon to become the Lord Protector of the Realm until Joffrey get's older.

The Wiser of the Lord's seen this as a scheme since once he was Lord Protector of the Realm Stannis would be able to consolidate his power and eventually usurp the Throne.

So in the end Jon Arryn was chosen as the Lord Protector while Stannis was made the Hand of the King in Jon Arryn's place since he can't be both Lord Protector and Hand of the King.

A grand ceremony with a lot of the influential Lord's of the Seven Kingdom's attended the ceremony to mourn the loss of King Robert and to support the Iron Throne and the new Lord Protector.

Stannis was extremely mad about this since he should have become the Lord Protector instead but he can't do anything about that now.

Also at this ceremony was Jaime Lannister who had been making a good recovery from his wounds and was able to continue his duties as the Kingsguard once again.

Though the one that Jon Arryn hoped would show up the most was Lord Ned Stark but he was still being help captive by the Free Folk.

The reason he referred to them as the Free Folk and not the Wildlings like everyone else is because he received a letter from the Free Folk Warning the Iron Throne and the Seven Kingdom's that any more interference in the war will result in them invading the Northern Lands and slaughtering everyone.

The Problem with this was that Jon Arryn knew that they could do it especially since they destroyed the Royal Army and Killed Robert and a few other Lords who joined him.

But leaving that matter aside Cersei who was now without husband remained the Queen of the Seven Kingdom's since her son was the future King and she was his mother.

But her power didn't extend past that which is something that she hoped to change especially since she lost her husband. Was she upset or mad? No in fact she was glad since he was not what she thought he was and she hated him, but for her family and her father she dealt with it.

Now that she was free she was going to increase her power and connections since she knew that now that she was single again her father might try to marry her off to another Lord to improve their families standing, but she didn't want that and she would resist that should it come.

Back to the Wall the War with the Night's Watch was over as the few who remained ran back South to Winterfell and beyond.

Thornir who was finally at peace spent time with his children, while also securing the wall to now keep those on the other side of the wall from getting in.

So instead of keeping the Free Folk beyond the wall now He will make sure that nobody from the Seven Kingdoms try to get inside of his Kingdom.

As for Lord Stark he had already talked to him and would let him return to Winterfell in exchange all he wanted was for peace and to stay out of their affairs.

Lord Stark had no choice but to agree. And with that he was sent back to Winterfell on a Horse.

Thornir didn't kill Lord Stark because he was never hostile towards him, instead he was just doing his duty as the Lord of Winterfell which is something that Thornir understands and can respect about him.

Plus it would only create more problems to kill which would make the hate for the Free Folk only grow inside the hearts of the Northern people.

The War was over and peace had come, Thornir wanted no problems to start up so he just focused on the development of his lands and his army to protect his people.
