Chapter Twenty Five

Neil arrived at the hospital after driving around aimlessly for a few minutes. It was still pouring when he got there, and he ended up completely soaked, down to the socks. When he went into Stew’s room, both Stew and Roland looked at him, visibly shocked. There was an audible dripping noise coming from Neil.

“What the hell happened to you?” Stew asked.

“Your damn niece happened.” He sat down, and took his hat off. Roland looked perplexed.

“What on earth are you talking about?” Stew asked. “Did she push you into the river or something?”

“No. It’s raining.”

“That would be obviously, I should think.” Roland replied drily. “How did you end up in the rain, Neil?”

“I ended up in the rain because I left the Music Box.” Neil shook his head. “We…I’m not sure how much she’s told you, but O’Toole thinks he can take O’Leary down with our’s and De Rossi’s help.”

“Yes. We’ve been scheming the last couple of weeks.”
