Chapter 27 : Where is my wife

?

Now sitting very close at his bed side, in a broad daylight and watching the man closely, she did not feel anything. She had not developed any feelings for him.

Why should she develop feelings for him? Just within few days, and under such circumstances?

Just because he was pronounced her husband by the priest of God, did not really affect her emotions.

She was seriously in love with another man.

But unfortunately for her, she was pregnant neither for the man she was in love with nor the emergency husband she had married. But for a totally strange man whom she could not put a finger on his way about.

At the thought of the pregnancy, she started sobbing, it was her own turn to sob. Everyone in the room thought she was sobbing for her husband’s condition, but no! she was sobbing for her own condition.

Mr. Omar has clearly refused her getting an abortion in the hospital, and she was hoping to get abortion as soon as she goes home, but the man has refused her going home to her own home.

But that was not a problem, she must surely find a way of getting away and getting an abortion.

She may come back after the abortion to honour the agreement and wait until her sister comes back. She can’t possibly keep the child. She did not want her own child to suffer the way her mother suffered or the way she herself suffered. It is better for the child not to come out into the world at all than to come and suffer.

She was really sobbing out bitterly, and they were consoling her. But in a second, everyone in the room got a shock.

The sick man coughed and coughed again. Those who were sitting down, all stood up in alert. Dan quickly pressed the emergency alert beside the bed and in two minutes, the doctor and the nurse were beside the bed.

“please, excuse us everyone” the doctor said respectfully and professionally looking from one person to the other.

They all went out and stood at the corridor.

The doctor and the nurse spent nearly forty-five minutes before beckoning on them to come inside.

When they came inside, the doctor said “Mr. Bon-Hwa is fully back to life now. No concern for alarm now. We have to concentrate more now on his burns and in few days’ time, he leaves for home, where he would be under serious check-up. he smiled at them as he was saying this.

Everyone was happy, including Chin Cho. In her mind, she was not happy, because she loves the man, no! but she was happy, because every good human being would be happy for the life and well-being of others. And she was a good human being.

The doctor and the nurse left for other duties, and the four persons around the bed were still watching the sleeping man on the bed silently.

Since the doctor and the nurse left, no one had said anything. There was a dead silence in room.

The silence was suddenly broken by the voice of the man on the bed.

“where is my wife?” was the first statement he made as he woke up from his sleep and coma.

“do you have a wife?” Vera replied with anger. Everyone was surprised at Vera, why did she have to reply him that way?

He is just coming out of a coma and should be pampered.

Vera was too annoyed with him for what he tried to do.

“huh!, I thought I had a wife, I thought I got married not too long ago.” Rohan said warily.

“you have a wife whom you care so much about and you tried to take your own life, eh! Am asking you, do you care for her that much? And yet you didn’t think of her when you wanted to kill yourself.” Vera started crying afresh.

Rohan was lying helpless at his sister’s attack; he did not expect this. But he was somehow feeling happy that he was alive.

Now he knew that life if very sweet. Having tasted death, he knew that life was sweet.

He would never attempt such stupid thing again in his life no matter what happened. Thank God someone saved him and he did not die.

Although he was yet to know who saved him.

“who saved me from the fire” he uttered out of the blue.

“your wife” his assistant replied.

“my wife?” he asked abruptly trying to lift himself with his elbow, but fell back due to pains.

‘what! the woman, he did not want to get hurt? And he left the main house to the store house, how did she do it.?

His assistant helped him to relax again.

“how is she” he asked with anxiety in his voice. His mind has skipped, fearing that something has happened to her while she was trying to save him.

“she is fine” Martins; Vera’s husband replied him.

He heaved a sigh of relief, relaxed and closed his eyes, as if mediating.

“I hope she was not as burnt as I am” he uttered quietly. I purposely went to the store house because I didn’t want her to get hurt or get killed.”

“so you are confirming to us that you really wanted to commit suicide?” Vera fired at him.

“you can take a look at her, if you care for her that much why did you want to leave her by committing suicide.” his sister said pointing at Chin Cho’s direction.

Chin Cho had been quiet all this while, sitting at a corner without expression.

it was then that Rohan knew that Chin Cho was in the room.

He made to turn to the pointed direction, but couldn’t, his assistant quickly helped him turn.

He looked at Chin Cho with a cold expression, their eyes met and locked.

The woman looked pale, but still very beautiful, nothing had happened to her face. She has only few patches; on her arms and legs.

Rohan was still looking at her, but she had removed her eyes. She was getting irritated at the man’s gaze.

Why he was looking at her so intently was what she Chin Cho could not understand. She was sitting quietly, looking at him, she cared less. She was full of her own troubles.
