Best Friends

[This is from the past]

The whole class is loud because we are preparing for our group report. We will report this tomorrow in our Physics subject. Everyone is busy with the topics assigned to us by Ms. Cruz.

"How do we divide the reporting?" Luciana asked our groupmates.

Each group has five members, according to peers; that's why my best friends Luciana, Luisa, Denise, and Carla are with me.

They are my best friend, but Lucian has been my best friend since kinder. We grew up together because both our parents are friends and our houses are close to each other. And a significant factor is that we get along and understand each other, so we became friends.

Luciana is my first best friend. We have known each other since we are young so we already know each other and each other's behavior well. We complement despite so many differences we have. Luciana is a timid type. She's modest, very kind, cheerful, and very down-to-earth.

Actually, my four best friends are like my sisters. We are more than just best friends because we treat each other like siblings. We really care for each other and love each other, so until now, we have been friends.

"Let's just pick topics, to be fair," Luisa suggested. "We'll put numbers on this paper and pick to see what topic corresponds to the number we selected."

We all agreed. "That's right. It's better that way." Carla agreed. We nodded.

"I will write the numbers on the paper," I presented. They nodded.

Denise helped me in rolling the paper. When we finished, we put the piece of paper in my palm, and I shook it before asking my friends to pick one. We got our respective topics.

"Where are we going to work on our report?" Denise asked as we discussed the plans to be made.

"Let's do it at home," Luciana said, smiling.

I could clearly see our friends' eyes sparkling because of the joy and excitement that we would do a group report at Iana's house.

"Alright. Let's do it at your place. But isn't it embarrassing?"

I almost rolled my eyes at what Carla said. They laughed at my reaction, and I hit them a little more.

"It's embarrassing? You guys are there almost every day!" I said. They laughed.

We always hang out in each other's place but often do it in Luciana's. Denise, Carla, and Luisa, we can say that they are really our friends. Among the many people who tried and became friends with Luciana, the three of them are the ones we can say are our true friends. They have been in our class since grade 8. We can say they are really friends because they did not make friends with us just for the fame we could give.

Most people at school only want us to be their friends because of our family and Luciana's older brothers. Luciana's brother and cousins graduated from this school and left a great impression. Both of her brother and older cousins excelled in academics and sports. They were the heartthrobs.

Luciana's younger cousins also study here, and they are all popular.

Luciana and I are one of the popular girls in the school, so sometimes it's hard to find true friends. However, Luisa, Carla, and Denise didn't care about the popularity but the true essence of friendship.

Luciana has one older brother and many older cousins, who are all good-looking and very charming men. So most of the girls don't intend us to be just friends, especially Luciana, because they also want to be noticed by her brother and cousins.

I am close to Luciana's family, and most people only want to be my friends because they want the attention of the Griffins.

"Sure. Come with us." Luciana said to our friends.

"Oh my gosh! I'll see the twins again." Luisa said excitedly. She has a crush on the twins, Kuya Phoenix and Kuya Nixon.

Kuya Nixon has a girlfriend who is Ate Gracia. We call her ate or older sister because they are a senior high school student. Grade 12. They are two years ahead of us.

"I'm okay with Kuya Lucian, Kuya Fausto, Kuya Caiden or Kuya Samuel." Denise said, mentioning the Griffins.

We laughed. "I'm okay with who isn't mentioned from the list," Carla said jokingly since Luciana has more than 10 cousins.

"I want the Griffins, even if I'm two or three years younger than them," she added.

Luciana and I shook our heads and laughed. Carla is talking about Luciana's younger cousins. Her boy cousins are in grades 6 and 7, while her girl cousins are elementary school students.

Luciana is the eldest girl among her cousin. She is five years older than her other female cousins, Sky, Momo, and Makayla while she is just a year older than Celeste, Kuya Caiden's sister. She is now in grade nine.

We decided to do it with Luciana. After class, we will go straight to her place. We arranged our seats after the class with Ms. Santos in our physics subject.

When our class ended, Luisa, Carla, and Denise told their parents they would be home late since we would do our group report at Luciana's place. We went to Luciana's house together when they got their parents' approval.

While on the trip, they can't get rid of their excitement. We just laugh at them. When we arrived, we went down to the Griffins' property. It was a mansion.

We passed by the huge swimming pool on the side of the entrance to the main door of the mansion. Our friends were almost stunned to see Luciana's cousins ​​swimming in the pool. Only with their swimming trunks! So scandalous!

"Oh my gosh! Why are they all so handsome?" The three of them said. They were so excited that they were going to faint. Luciana and I shook our heads.

I pretended like a strict older sister. "Stop it. We are still minor,"

They looked at me and rolled their eyes at me. "KJ!"

I made a face. My friends laughed at what I did.

"Brothers, we are here," Luciana said to her cousins. Kuya Phoenix, Kuya Samuel, and Kuya Caiden looked at us from the pool. We are calling them Kuya or older brother as a sign of respect.
