'Why is the mark reacting this way?' Aeric frowned, This was the first time something like this had occurred. Until now, the mark has only reacted once... That was when he first received it.
This might be the first time that the mark had Reacted so intensely. Aeric was perplexed and didn't know what to do.
'Wait...This!'
Before Aeric can recollect his thoughts, A ray of light was shot from the mark...Towards the passage in front of him.
A moment later the light disappeared from his range of sight.
Aeric tensed up as he looked at the other three, but relaxed when he noticed their oblivious expressions to that ray of light.
'It seems... only I can see it.' For a split second, Aeric was frightened.
The library can be considered his most important secret...if it was leaked, Aeric can't estimate how many people would try to get their hands on it...
As Aeric tried to calm down, the island began to shake...
The shaking stopped after a while, and nothing appears to have changed.
But Ian's eyes sparkled with excitement as he tried to contain his excitement.
'The ruins were activated?' Good! ' Ian couldn't stand still any longer and began striding into the passage.
After entering the passage, it was further divided into seven paths, and without any hesitation...Ian entered the fifth path.
"Why are you so anxious? wait for us!"
Asher yelled and attempted to follow Ian, but was stopped by an invisible barrier.
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't break that barrier.
Rue who was beside Asher touched the barrier and contemplated for a moment.
"It appears that only one person can enter each path...I'll take the second one, " Rue declared as he moved closer to the second path.
But, before Rue could enter, the entrance was blocked by a stone wall that appeared out of nowhere and a sentence written in gold appeared on the stone wall.
" 'Only pure humans will be allowed to pass' huh...Dammit, it appears that I will be unable to enter with you guys." Rue turned his head and looked around, but no one was there.
"Damn...Did they abandon me?... Fu*k " Rue cursed in annoyance, and walked out of the passage, since he can't enter the ruins at the very least he will try to enjoy the ocean.
_____
Within the fifth path.
After entering the path, Ian began to examine his surroundings.
The path is entirely made of stone and has torches near the ceilings on both sides.
'Finally...now I am one step closer to getting it,' Ian exclaimed, excited at the thought of getting that treasure.
The reason he wanted it was simple...it was a treasure that could, at the very least, Increase his mind cultivation to Blue Grade in one night!
Treasures are of two types, Either they have to be an 'Artifact type' treasure, with certain powers and abilities imbued in them, or... they have to be a 'Consumable type' treasure...that shows a particular effect after consumption.
Currently, The treasure Ian was trying to get is a Consumption type treasure.
The Consumption type is also further divided into other groups like Herbs, Natural treasures, or Biological Treasures. But that's for another day.
The Treasures are divided into 4 ranks... Common, Rare, Unique, and Legendary.
' Tear of Od...huh '. Ian recalled the treasure that was supposed to be at the end of the Fifth path of these Ruins... which was also known as the Forgotten labyrinth.
The 'Tear of Od'...was a type of miraculous water born from unknown causes, Not only can it manifest an illusion into reality. but it can also change itself into any form of energy.
The greatest use of 'Tear of Od' is manifesting illusion as reality...using this 'Tear of Od' a Purple grade Mind practitioner can instantly reach a high level in the Second Stage.
'To be honest, using it this way is a bit of waste But...I don't have a choice.' Ian was skeptical about wasting this treasure this way ...But getting a rapid increase in his strength is more important at the given moment than wasting some treasure...
Ian sighed and cleared his head of these thoughts before starting sprinting.
These seven paths are an inheritance site made by the People of the Forgotten Era ...Ian doesn't know their motives and nor does he care, All he knew is that there will be no danger on the path as long as you meet the owner's requirements...for this particular Ruin, it would be to be a pure human.
Of course, the main reason this Ruin was opened was because of the mark on Aeric's hand...that was connected to Forgotten times.
That's also the main reason why Ian's journey was so smooth sailing...without aeric, it would be impossible to even set foot on the path.
Ian walked straight to the end and finally saw it...
A gleaming glass bead that was floating in the air.
It was far beyond anything he saw in terms of its appearance alone...
A Unique grade Consumable - Tear of Od...
'That's it!' Ian's eyes gleamed with joy as he held the bead.
With no further thought, he swallowed it.
And contrary to his expectations, it didn't enter his stomach but entered into the mind that was present everywhere inside his body...
' Now I need to convert this into mind power ...' Ian already forcefully awakened his Mental space using a herb at the university, so all he has to do right now is to convert the power inside the Teardrop into mind power after drawing it into the mental space.
A moment later Ian successfully pulled the 'Tear of Od' into his mental space, The teardrop gradually started breaking down and released a white light.
The white light not only turned into a colorless power but also nourished his mind in the process and made it produce even more mind power.
An instant later, A red hue covered Ian's whole body, and in no time... it was soon replaced by orange followed by yellow.
Ian had no idea how he should react to this rocket speed increase in power.
All he can say is that...Amazing!
Awesome!
His mind also experienced a change after the successive breakthroughs and Ian could even recall the insignificant and forgotten events in the novel.
But he didn't notice any obvious changes which made him frown.
'This...so now I need to practice abilities?...' Ian sighed.
This is what Ian despises about Mind Practitioners most.
Not only should they waste time increasing their mind power, but it also takes a long time to learn abilities!
'Ugh...If I was a Fiend or an Arcane mage, I could have gotten a ton of attack abilities by now...' Ian recalled those awesome powers that can be used immediately after reaching the required level.
Not only are their attack power strong but they didn't even have to spend time learning the abilities...How awesome was that!
" Don't get distracted, Ian... Mind practitioners have the most potential," Ian muttered and distracted himself.
He then looked at himself. who was covered in a green hue...signifying his entrance to Green grade.
He tried to stop emitting light like a light bulb... but eventually gave up.
Ian stopped caring about it and looked around the path.
"Anyway...let's go back, it will take time for the other two to get their inheritances...in meantime, I can try studying this Mindpower. " Ian muttered and started walking back.
He was quite satisfied with his increased Grade...even if there is no obvious change in his combat ability.
