Weird Changes In Mind.

"It's nothing special. I want some herbs ... They might seem too much but... they are equal to the opportunity to breakthrough to the Purple grade you want, " Said Ian.

He took the list from his pockets and tossed it toward Asher as if he had expected it beforehand.

Asher read the list for a few moments and furrowed his brows.

Even if it seemed like this was a valid trade, Ian would benefit from this no matter what.

If Ian won the bet, He could not only receive the free herbs, but Asher would also become target practice for no apparent reason.

However, if Ian loses, He would have to take Asher to a mysterious location to get Asher the treasure he wants.

However, under this pretext, he would employ a Human treasure finder in his exploration for free!

Even though Asher knew that this trade wasn't beneficial to him. He still got tempted by the allure of a treasure that could help him reach Purple grade.

He knew that with his luck reaching a purple grade would be a matter of time, but... the possibility of getting a treasure for free sounds not bad.

"Alright, I will accept the bet. Let's start right now, " said Asher.

Ian didn't care to respond as his pupils turned grey.

In the next instant, For Ian, the world became black and white.

In this black and white world, Ian noticed Asher was emitting a deep blue Aura with a tinge of purple color.

'He is almost on the verge of a breakthrough,' thought Ian.

He already half-expected this.

But before he could observe further, the mask on Asher's face emitted a White Aura and suppressed the Aura emitted from Asher.

Instantly, the bright blue hue surrounding Asher faded as if it had never existed.

' So that's how he planned to win...' Thought Ian.

Despite knowing that he would win, Ian didn't let down his guard.

A lion will use all of its strength even when hunting a rabbit.

|Thought Reading| is similar to |Emotion Reading|. However, there is still a distinction between them.

Will |Thought Reading| follow the same principle as |Emotion Reading|? observing the Aura to read emotions?

The answer is NO!

Reading thoughts from Aura alone is impossible, no matter how hard one tries.

|Thought Reading| uses a similar method, but the object of observation will be different.

Instead of searching for emotions in Aura, as in |Emotion reading|, for |Thought reading| they must first identify a unique power that differs from Aura.

The majority of this unique power was emitted near the brain, and many people refer to these as Brain Waves.

These Brain Waves are like Aura, a special type of Mindpower.

Maybe because of the increased Awareness, luck, or experience from last time; It didn't take him long to identify these brain waves.

Now comes the difficult part. In the traditional version of |Thought Reading|, the next step would be to use their senses to understand these Brain waves.

A normal mind practitioner would find it nearly impossible to read Asher's thoughts at the moment—that is, if his strength did not exceed Asher's.

These Brain Waves are similar to Aura, a type of Mindpower.

It didn't take him long to identify these brain waves, perhaps because of his increased awareness, luck, or experience from the previous time.

The Mind Protection Mask can reduce Resistance to Abilities After Tweaking one of its functions a bit, however, it also blocks Brain Waves, making it impossible to read Asher's thoughts.

'Fortunately, all of my abilities are modified versions created by Osiris,' Thought Ian after seeing this.

Instead of sensing and comprehending brain waves, he could see directly through them with the help of |True Vision|.

Ian converted these Brain Waves into language by following the steps stated in the inheritance.

' Hmm... Translating a Brain Wave into a word is harder than I thought, ' Ian grumbled in his heart.

He focused harder and continued to translate them one by one.

However, Ian was currently confronted with another challenge. By the time he translated a Brain Wave that represented a thought, Asher had already emitted hundreds, if not thousands, of thoughts.

This means he can only read one out of every 1000 thoughts! That would be pretty much useless.

Ian's face became odd, and he looked at Asher for a moment before speaking.

"What's wrong with you? Why are you repeatedly saying Food!?"

Ian translated 20 to 30 thoughts already, but all of them were a single word- food!

Asher didn't give him any answer but instead laughed out loud.

"Impressive. How did you do that? ... Well, forget it. I won't ask for your secrets. Someone once said that {Seeking Others' Secrets is killing their three generations of descendants} " Said, Asher.

"... that's an odd statement " Said Ian.

Asher shrugged his hands and continued- "A Cultist once said that to me... Ah! It's when I accidentally got my hands on his treasure, you know my luck ,"

Asher looked helpless, as if he was being plagued by bad luck all his life. But Ian ignored him and started pondering.

Ian knew what a cultist was. They are people who worship devils from the Abyssal Realm but don't belong to any Major Factions.

To put it simply, they are freelancer Fiends... maybe not a freelancer.

Asher didn't seem to mind Ian winning the bet. Rather, he was amused!

How did he do that? What is his background?

Asher began to have such thoughts, but he did not express them.

Everything will be revealed... when the right time came. Until then, he should only concentrate on increasing his grade and eating new foo- Cough Cough.

This sudden cough woke Ian from his thoughts. But Before he could question what happened Asher continued;

"Either you have an amazing background or you have a terrifying talent," said Asher honestly.

' I have none of them' Thought Ian and let out a self-depraved laugh.

However, He didn't deny that. Ian didn't want to waste time giving a reply.

His attention was attracted to something else; he could feel some weird changes happening in his mind.

" Interesting...so that's why mastering abilities is important!" Ian muttered.

At this point, the confusion in his heart about the importance of abilities was cleared.
