A Few Days Passed By;
In these few days, Ian didn't even go out of his room.
Not even to Aeric's lab for making more potions.
Right now, what he needs aren't potions — If he rashly consumed some potions and accidentally did something rash, then he would regret it for sure.
Moreover, His Mind has undergone a special change after learning |Thought Reading|.
As a result of this change, he noticed that all aspects of his Mind, such as Memory, comprehension, etc, have significantly improved.
This is the qualitative change that occurs in the Mind as a result of comprehending an Ability, which is comprehending a portion of the state itself!
However... maybe there are some flaws somewhere, After undergoing this change his Mind became unstable, almost collapsing.
Ian had to skim through the inheritance and use Mind Meditation techniques to try to make his Mind stable again.
"Huu... Finally, it once again became stable," muttered Ian; his eyes were droopy from exhaustion. Ian never expected that he would one day skip sleep for a few days straight.
In the past few days, He learned the true meaning of "Talent"... the hard way.
Ian was optimistic from the start and didn't pay much attention to his talent, even when he was in Red grade; he learned the abilities in a matter of days, which inflated his arrogance.
But looking back, He felt he was too childish.
The abilities in Red grade are the easiest of the bunch;
He had |True Vision|- A Hidden Ability created by Osiris, as well as modified versions of all abilities that were slightly easier than the original versions.
And most importantly, learning abilities isn't the only thing to do in Mind Cultivation... He had to use Mind Meditation techniques to increase his Mind power for stability and not die from Mind Collapse.
However, with a steady supply of potions. Ian skipped Mind Meditation to increase his Mind power using shortcuts.
It's not surprising that his increase in strength was so smooth sailing until now, but every easy method would have a price to pay.
And that price repayment began when he reached Orange Grade, all the effects of the Mind Explosion Pill had faded, making the process of Mind Cultivation a nightmare.
Even Meditating for hours straight might not be able to increase His mind power by much.
"As expected... Talent is also essential." Ian exclaimed aloud;
Ian couldn't help but laugh when he remembered his proclamation that talent was useless.
The Ignorant Are Truly Fearless.
"If only this body was better..."
As Ian previously stated, Talent is indeed illusory. However, that statement only applies to the mind.
Because All humans have the same Mind blueprint, the way it turned out in end would be determined by the person's experiences, memories, actions, and thought processes.
Memory, calculation speed, and comprehension were all secondary.
We can increase Memory and calculation speed by Mind Cultivation or many other miraculous medicines and potions.
As one's knowledge pool expanded, one's comprehension would also grow over time.
Even without any of these, hard work and a positive attitude would be enough to live a normal life.
Simply put, the Mind is like a moldable clay that will change based on the person himself.
However, what astounded Ian was... an abstract thing like Mind Cultivation is actually dependent on the Constitution aka-The Physical body!
He couldn't believe it at all! If it hadn't been Aeric who said it, but Asher, he would have taken it as a joke.
The amount of Mindpower escaped is inversely proportional to the Constitution, so if a person has a Great Constitution from birth, then his Mind Cultivation speed would be dozens of times faster than average.
' Should I use those things?...'
Ian knew about something that could increase a person's constitution- Life Blood, the power extracted from Monster Realm's factions.
However, doing so might be more harmful than beneficial.
Almost all Ancient Ruins that Ian knew would require one to be a pure human to enter them; So if he were to use Life Blood and get tainted by the Unique Aura of the monster... then he could say goodbye to all of those treasures.
"Anyway...let's just concentrate on learning the ability, from now on...no distracting thoughts, " muttered Ian.
After stabilizing his mind, the first thing he wanted to do was not to rest but...; to learn new abilities!
If he died from exhaustion, so be it! He had to reach a purple grade as fast as possible.
If it's this hard in the early stages, then he could already guess how difficult the latter stages would be.
"Hmm... This ability is quite interesting! Dividing the consciousness into multiple parts!? "
Ian's curiosity was piqued the moment he learned about this Ability;
Doesn't that mean he can multitask!?
'Moreover, this ability can be considered either simple or extremely complex based on the person who learns it...' Thought Ian.
Learning this ability is simple as long as the Mind practitioner has a high level of Awareness, and it is also simpler for people who can already multitask.
Fortunately, His awareness was high enough. It didn't take him much effort to divide a small part of his consciousness into individual consciousness.
It process of this 'Derivation' was simply torture for any normal person.
However, Ian was well-experienced with pain due to the 'Torture' he undergoes after every Regression; so this small bit of pain didn't even make him flinch.
The individual consciousness didn't possess much intelligence and can't do any complex work, however...
"Maintain this Ability," ordered Ian.
The small consciousness did as it was told, and Ian's eye color changed.
It turned from his usual pitch black to grey.
"It works? Then... I can maintain an inferior version of |True Vision| at all times? " Ian muttered in surprise.
After reaching Orange grade, He can use an inferior version of |True Vision| 24/7; The only thing that was stopping him is - he couldn't multitask!
But now that problem is gone!
He can use |True Vision| at every moment... even if it's just an inferior version.
' Did that old man put this ability in inheritance specifically for this reason? ' Thought Ian.
If so, then... Osiris did the right job! These two abilities are made for each other.
Ian started giggling and soon while laughing he collapsed... Exhaustion from the previous few days finally kicked in.
He slept soundly... even if it was on the floor.
