Dead end

David had started walking towards the dead end of the forbidden forest, knowing that whether or not she was a Sigma wolf, he would be needing the branches of the healing tree in any case, to heal the wounds she would get after touching the dagger.

'Setting aside the curiosity of finding out her real identity, he was not ready to risk her life! So he had prepared everything just to scare her...scare her enough to make her reveal her identity. Because no matter how beautiful the face of that girl was, he was disgusted by her dual-faced, hypocritical personality!

How could a girl act so innocent and unaware of everything around her, including her own self?

And she was doing all this, just because of the throne! Seriously! She was hiding her identity, trying so hard to establish in everyone's minds that she was an Alpha, just so that she would get an equal chance to fight. Or perhaps her grand plan was to keep up this charade for long enough so that no one stood a chance to fight her once she revealed her identity, directly on the day of the fight!

He was so angry...so angry at her, for lying like this...for not telling him the reality-'

"Me!? Why am I angry with her because she didn't tell me the reality?! What am I actually angry at: am I angry at her because hiding the truth from everyone, or just me? Or am I angry at myself, because no matter what she has done, how can I be the one to hurt her- no!

I am a bully...a royal bully, who can do whatever he wants to! I have done it before; tortured many before and will torture many after this also, what's going wrong with me then!

And why the hell am I talking to myself!?"

David stopped walking as he realised that he had been murmuring to himself for the past five minutes and stood rooted to the spot with his head in his hands.

He was not able to find his own pace these days, he was being bothered by the air around him as well!

Not able to decide what his anger was actually rooted in, he started running towards the end of the forest to find the healing tree.

Myron latched his hands on the red cloth, but mistakenly touched the net in the process. The mild current that was running inside the net had the extremely opposite strength outside, as the force pushed Myron almost three feet away from the net. The thumping sound caused Nora to be pulled out of the dark chambers of her torturous home.

"Brother!" She screamed, finally realizing that there were others present there too!

"Don't try, don't try anything and don't come near me! This net...this net has jolts of electricity running thro-"

"I knew this girl is a completely gone case! But how zoned-out can someone be!? Did you even hear a single word that Adrin was speaking?"

Nora's belated words of warning were interrupted by Robin's taunts, she turned to see that he had started approaching her slowly and carefully, while Adrin was already helping Myron get to his feet.

Robin lifted the red cloth that had slipped from Myron's hands due to the sudden shock, and took a close look before he spoke again.

"Nora! Listen carefully now! Close your eyes-"

"What? Just a few minutes ago, you were taunting me that I don't pay attention to anything, now you are telling me to close my eyes-"

Nora interrupted him eagerly to point out the contradiction in his words, forgetting her own precarious situation for a second.

"Can you ever listen to me for once?"

"Ye-yes but wait right there, this net has electricity flow-"

"Yes, I know!"

"So why are you coming towards me-"

"Nora! I asked you to close your eyes, didn't I? Do I need to beg the Princess for her kindness now?"

He snapped at her, directing a cold stare in her direction, because he had understood by now, that this was the only way to make her comply.

"Okay!"

Nora spoke before squeezing her eyes shut; in any case, her vision had already started going blurry as the shocks were reminding her of something. And if not for the pain, the memories were definitely making her weaker by every passing minute.

'Robin's inspection had led him to notice that his brother was not as foolish to have found an actual Sigma net, just for the purpose of confirming a hunch. Despite everything that had transpired between them, he knew his brother way more than he should have!

And no matter how rude David tended to present himself in front of everyone, due to the pressure from their family, of being the perfect candidate for the throne, he was actually a caring person who was always curious about everything around him.

And as soon as Nora was safe, he would try to find out what exactly had led David to concluding that Nora could be a Sigma wolf.

Had he perhaps placed too much faith in the intelligence of his older brother, who was not aware of the fact that there was no record of the existence of any Sigma females in history? Their history only mentioned six Sigma wolves till date, and none of them had identified themselves as female.

But in any case, his brother really did need to work on his physics and chemistry lessons; for the net, he had set a slightly higher voltage of electricity than was supposed to be used, and as for the dagger...only an idiot would be using this!'

Seeing that Robin didn't really have any other option at that moment, the first thing he did was to switch off the key, which was present right behind his left foot, and then swiped the dagger upwards so as to rip the net from the middle.

As soon as the net was ripped in two, Nora, who was still clenching her eyes tightly, fell in his arms. He had anticipated this beforehand, and quickly moved forward to catch her; he was fully confident regarding the level of stupidity of the girl, and exactly how cut-off from her surroundings she tended to be. As if deliberately proving his point, she actually fell in his arms- the only difference in his prediction was, that she had not closed her eyes because he had asked her to...but because she had already fainted.
