Brother!

Present time :

David was spewing fire, and everyone present there was either in utter confusion about whether or not he was really going to carry out whatever he had been saying without even flinching; or they were completely sure about the answer to that question and had moved ahead to other pressing topics.

This was when a nurse rushed out into the hallway, and called out ;

"Doctor! She …she -"

"Speak fast, God dammit !!"

It was Robin who screamed out this time.

"She had opened her eyes for a moment, but closed them within seconds, while intermittently calling for someone named Myron…"

"Please excuse us!"

Saying this, the doctor literally dragged the naive nurse inside the ICU once again, before she could end up in the middle of the grave danger of politics going on outside.

Politics has a very clear approach towards everyone - it isn't loyal to anyone, and its sole nature is to cheat any and every person who ever tries to associate themselves with it!

In case politics would have been a real person, then they would definitely have bagged the award for being the most cunning person alive! But fortunately, it isn't; and can only bag the trophy for being the filthiest profession ever.

And the second one in this line- up would undoubtedly be the entity known as love.

Yes! Love!

Similar to how politics is not loyal to anyone, love makes you disgustingly loyal to the one you love…sometimes to the extent of making you disloyal to your own self! And this is just what it was doing to David; just a few moments ago, he had been suspecting Myron as the guilty one. Because no matter what, he hadn't ever been able to make himself trust him wholeheartedly, or accept him as Nora's brother - while the same was true from Myron's end as well, who was also just tolerating David because of his love for Nora.

Hence, collecting himself from delving too deep into the theories he never wanted to create, he turned towards Henry. A moment later, he started walking towards the bench with his legs wobbling, knowing that he now needed to find Myron and bring him there, even from the depths of Hell. Because the first person was going to ask about, after coming into her complete senses, would be Myron, and Myron alone.

And as of right now, he did not have a single piece of information regarding his current whereabouts!

With this adding to the list of things pulling his mind into deep despair, he sat on the chair with a thud. And apart from this one instance, in the entire history of his existence on earth, he had never found himself crying… not like this, as he broke down in tears, with loud sobs escaping his mouth. However, these sobs and tears… neither of them belonged to the feeling of sadness, or the pain or fear of losing her. Instead, they belonged to the belief that she was going to be fine. The favorite child of the Moon Goddess was going to stay right here… right here with him. But as fresh tears started rolling down his cheeks, he realised how he had been holding himself up till now… how the redness of his eyes was conveying the message of volcanoes erupting inside his chest, and most importantly how he was going to burn everyone to ashes with the lava was spewing out.

But now, he had come to accept that no matter how hard he was trying to hide it…hide his fear beneath his anger, he was scared.

He was scared, to death.

He was scared, even though he was sure that the moment she would have stopped breathing, he would also have ended his life, but taking the entire territory down with himself!

Because yes, she was indeed the one with a golden, multi- layered heart to accommodate everyone, the heart to forgive everyone…everyone who had done bad things to her, but he? He was the sole worshiper of the darkness! He was a supporter of darkness, and had always lived within its shades. This was also the reason that at the beginning, he had tried to put distance between her and him, trying desperately to protect her…protect her from his darkness, from himself!

Eventually, he had realised that he couldn't do that, and would never be successful in this endeavour. He had tried to step into the bright and colourful world of hers, and the curse of his monochromatic life had also engulfed her whole. The difference was that the blackness of his life hadn't painted her life in black, but instead, her life was drained of each vibrant hue, only leaving dark scarlet behind!

It was Robin's presence and his words that pulled him out of his thoughts.

"Tell me! Tell me, brother, that you …you are not behind this situation of hers. I am here, and I am ready to believe you for the first time in my life. You can trust me to not go beyond your words to investigate, I will just trust your words, whatever you say. Just tell me that whatever had happened to her, you are not the reason, and that you will be finding the reason very soon…please."

If it would have been any other day, David would have been too happy to even put it into words. Robin was here…his brother! His brother had finally addressed him as his brother, and was ready to believe him. He was willing to believe anything he said, completely.

However, this was not any other day. It was the day on which he was already cursing hua own existence in the world. And happiness?! It was the most disgusting feeling for him, as the reason for him being alive was fighting for her life, and that too, because of him. He was the reason she was in this condition, his anger was.

He deserved to die in place of the one who was currently fighting with the death.

The thoughts started triggering him once again and the pain was making him dizzy enough to throw up, as his stomach felt like it had been hit by several punches at once. He placed his hand on the shoulder of Robin, who had sat down by his legs.

"I wish I would be able to say that…

But Robin, I am sorry. I am sorry that I… I am the reason. I am sorry, brother -"

"Don't call me that, ever again!"

Robin growled as he withdrew his shoulder, shaking David's hand off.

_______________

Present day :

After Robin had shrugged his brother's hand from his shoulder, he quickly jumped back up, getting to his feet once again. He turned to cast a glance in the lobby, sweeping the entire length of it, where he was only able to find three concerned faces. Apart from them, everyone else present there was waiting for the news of whether or not she would come out in a state to make a full, or even partial recovery… or probably secretly hoping that she would never get well or worse, die.

It was not like he had truly expected anything else from them, but there were two faces missing - those of Myron and Valerie.

Hence he turned to find someone and voiced the question that David had been whispering to Henry since so long.

"Louis, where is Myron? And where is Valerie? You didn't forget to inform them, did you? Because the news of her being hurt has not been allowed to leave the hospital premises and certainly hasn't been let out in the packs. So they are probably completely unaware of her being hurt, and waiting for her to return!"
