Morality

Five years ago :

David was obviously maddened with rage after hearing this statement of hers. But lurking somewhere beneath his chest, was also a feeling of hurt.

Even though he was not so deluded to not know how he deserved the harsh words and disgusted looks she was directing at him, he was still adamant enough to not want to accept this. Every time he had tried to bully her, it was to make her realise that she was just an intruder in their life, because he wanted to prove this point to himself, too.

And although he had tried to make himself believe that she was not an important person in his life - that she had never held that position in her life and nor did she deserve to - he just wasn't able to make it work! This thing had been driving him crazy for too long, and now he was going to end this reason, for the final time. He would make her realise that she had no authority to play with his mind like this, and that she was never going to matter to him.

Steeling his resolve, he had picked out the sharpest words to bring the girl to her deserved station, but his dedication to the task was overcome due to an unexpected intrusion.

"Nora?? What are you doing here, outside of the dorm? Weren't you supposed to settle down today?"

The voice that had taken away the words from his mouth belonged to none other than Robin, who had appeared on the spot, seemingly out of nowhere.

This boy had really developed a habit of barging into places where he was not supposed to be these days.

The thought left a sour taste in David's mouth as he stood there considering his brother's presence.

Nora moved towards Robin after hearing his questions, breaking the tension to some extent and leaving David at his place. As a response to all his questions, she replied to Robin with a single sentence.

"I need your help!"

The single sentence in turn triggered a row of questions and assumptions from a freaked out Robin.

"Help! Help with what? In what? Don't tell me, they are making a princess settle her things in the dorm by herself? And if yes, then let me have a good talk with them on your behalf."

Robin diagnosed the problem and came up with a solution all by himself, without even hearing the complete problem or letting Nora speak. He had even taken two steps forward to accomplish his goal when Nora grabbed his wrist and spoke ;

"This is not what I need help in, rather I need a place to stay -"

"A place to stay!? Can you please do me a favor and try to elaborate on your problems and concerns from the start? Because this pattern of giving away half information is creating trouble for me."

Robin responded, finally noticing the presence of David and assuming that she needed a place to stay because he was there.

Perhaps, there was no one who can stop him from entering in the girls dorm, and this was when he realised that a male wolf could enter the girl's dorm, but there were spells made for restricting the entry of a female wolf. But then, how had Nora entered in the dorm-

But he couldn't been able to complete his thought when he heard her voice again as she spoke;

"Because Valerie has to left the dorm because of me and she was very sad because of this and I don't want her to be sad -"

"Nora! You are an Alpha! You are not supposed to put others' comfort before your own!"

Robin tried to talk some sense into her while doubting his own tone and intentions. While it was true that he had always wanted to be a good wolf and put others before himself, the Alpha instinct inside him had never made that option viable for him.

"So you're telling me, that because your son is good friends with Nora, you want to establish friendship between us based on this?!"

Frederick spoke, looking at Carl and trying to ignore the fact that Francisco had not said a single word since Carl's proposal. He was not ignorant of the possibility that Fransisco might not like the idea, but if this was indeed what he was thinking it to be, then it was going to be very beneficial to him. And for this end, he was ready to convince Francisco as well, by any means necessary.

He had not made up his mind yet, nor had he decided on his thoughts about how to handle Francisco and convince him successfully before he heard the eager note of Carl's voice.

"Yes! Now you are getting my point! I knew you were always the smartest one among us, and now, your daughter is showing all these remarkable qualities within herself. But anyways! I have another thing I would be suitable to clarify here, now that you finally have understood my proposal. But my question is not to you, instead it is from Francisco. Do tell me, brother, do you have any sort of a problem with this friendly proposal of ours?"

Francisco lifted his head and directed his attention at Carl, giving him the look he would have given any passing beggar.

Nobody apart from his family or friends held an iota of significance in his life, and Carl was never included in his friends. In fact, he had always played the role of a rival in his life. And now, he was not ready to bring a rival into his son's life, in the face of the son of his old rival.

Hence he spoke , without any wasting any single second;

Definitely. I have a problem here, because as far as I know the Orion pack and the Alpha of that pack, I believe they are not even loyal to their own family. Then how will I trust your loyalty, in regards to my friend and his only daughter?"

Robin's words somehow chased away all the other thoughts and cleared Nora's mind, such that only one thought was dominant there now.

And it was the reminder that yes! She was an Alpha! Even if she could not channel or relate to the energy of an Alpha, and was confused about the reality herself, at least one thing was for sure, that she was supposed to be one.

No matter how hard she had tried to act like an Alpha in the past, she had never been successful at it. And somewhere, this also used to be one of the major reasons behind the disgrace of her father… the reason he had never thought about letting her out in the world, in the eyes of everyone and the world.

She wanted to explain this point to Robin, that it was true that she could certainly identify as an Alpha in society, but she was devoid of any of the traits to define herself as one. Every time she found someone in pain, her own heart wailed badly and perhaps, the reason behind it was the trauma she had been through. Or maybe it was something else, but she didn't want to know the exact reason, all she wanted to do was to help Valerie at that point. And for that, she either needed to find her father or go back to her home. But the real, tangible problem was that she didn't know her way back home…

She might know how to solve the trickiest questions of Archery Arithmetic, but she didn't know her way back home without her driver.

And hence, she needed Robin's help to reach there. Thinking this, she was about to open her mouth and explain everything from the beginning - including her real and genuine feelings regarding Valerie, what she wanted to do in this situation, and then ask for his help. This was when she heard Louis and Myron's voice echoing at the exact same time, as they spoke up ;

"Nora, wait! I think -"

"Thank God, Nora! I found you here only, it is -"

But before either of them could have said what they really wanted to say, Robin spoke up.

"I guess, I want to hear whatever you want to say. And now, judging by the presence of some unwanted person, I am left with only one option."

Saying this, Robin looked at Nora with a naughty smile playing on his lips, knowing that she was surely going to take the bait and ask him, "What?"

Then, he looked at Myron and signaled him to follow them with his eyes, before he grabbed her wrist and started running.

Louis had always tried to be friendly with all the wolves at the school, as he wanted to return with good and only good memories!

But Valerie had been a good friend to him, and perhaps this had started because of the carving classes. She might be bad at Archery Arithmetic even after hailing from the Orion pack, but she was absolutely marvelous at carving. So much so, that no one could match the level she was at, and there was a rumour that she was the best after David, in the whole territory!

Obviously, Louis had indeed gotten impressed, but he was there to help her - not because of that first rate impression or his friendship with her, but in reality, he was there because of Nora.

He had already been concerned about how she was going to manage alone in the dorms, and then he had come to know that Valerie was currently staying in the dorms. So he wanted nothing more than to help her out, so that Nora would not have to face extra problems in settling down.

But when he had finally arrived at the scene, he found everything to be opposite to his expectations, and moreover, completely out of bounds of his imagination.

The moment he had entered the dorm building, he got to know that Nora was already there. And before he could have gotten to explaining his presence to her, he had already taken notice of her red eyes. And instantly, he knew that there was something wrong that had taken place before he had arrived there, and he needed to find out more about it.

His first instinct had been to stop Nora only, to ask her what had happened. But she had rushed out of the building, without saying anything or heeding any of the calls.

He immediately turned to Valerie, and demanded ;

"Are you going to tell me what happened here, by yourself? Or do I need to ask you?"

And after he heard the briefing provided by her, he had also rushed out to stop Nora, knowing that her concern was just going to create problems. And the consequences would not affect just Valerie but Nora herself. But before he could have gotten the chance, he saw Myron arriving there and speaking at the same time as him. David and Robin were already there, but as they both stopped after their words overlapped with each other. He saw Robin grabbing her hand and running in a direction opposite to where he was standing.
