Half Brother

Nora returned to see Robin waiting in front of her palace, and she was about to ask him to come inside when he grabbed her wrist and whispered,

"Come with me."

Without divulging further information, he started dragging her towards the enchanted forest, parallel to the forbidden forest.

After the both of them had almost reached the middle of the forest, he finally broke his silence.

"Nora! We are standing in the middle of the enchanted forest, and the speciality of this forest is that everybody is forbidden from uttering a single lie here.

And even if they somehow manage to speak something with even a hint of lie in it, their great sin of telling a lie in the enchanted forest haunts them till the eternity -"

Before he could explain the consequences further, Nora exclaimed out of surprise;

"Robin! You didn't have to drag me to some forest just for the sake of knowing something from me! Ask me anything, and I will tell you the truth -"

"How would I know that you are not lying…? I mean, we both belong to the enemy packs and above all of it, we are Royals."

Robin spoke, clearing his throat while the slight hesitation in his tone was clearly apparent. This is when he heard Nora's voice;

"I never wanted to be born as a Royal, I don't want the throne, I never want to participate in the competition either… all I want is a little love…"

And saying this, she broke into tears. Her soft, stifled sobs finally caused Robin to take a look at her and notice her emerald green eyes, which were now flooded with tears.

All the questions that had dragged him there, all the doubts and the intentions of clearing them, because of which he had rushed here… the entire truth and the wish to know the truth- nothing mattered to him at that moment.

He pulled her into a hug and spoke, while placing a peck on her head;

"Shh! Nora! Promise me that till I am alive, you won't cry this bitterly again. Or else, I won't take more than a few minutes to annihilate the reason for your tears."

"Are you and David really brothers, because no matter how hard I try to find similarities between you two, I always end up getting disappointed -"

"No! We are half brothers."

Robin spoke and paused for a moment, as he asked;

"And now, before I drop you off at your palace, tell me one thing. Why did you bring up David right now-"

Nora's answer was prompt, and just as surprising to Robin.

"Because he had encountered me on my way back from Romera's house, applied ointment on my scars and then left after threatening me."

It took almost an hour for Ryan to realise that he might have ended up hurting Nora, in his anger and his blood again started to boil after realising that Adrin might just have given him wrong information about her.

He definitely needed to teach that lowly wolf some lessons; in fact, he needed to teach a good lesson to him.

Thinking this, he grabbed his jacket from the bed and walked out of the dorm, knowing there was still time left for dinner and the head count.

But while covering his trip, he had never assumed that he would end up witnessing the proof of the soft corner for Nora in David's heart, and watch him applying ointment on the scars he had left on her wrist.

And when he was thinking that he could easily cash in a benefit from this new weakness of David, he heard the threat he gave to Nora and mind started to cook a new recipe for torturing everyone present there, who could be his probable competitors.

With that, he left to find Adrin and punish him before the dinner, so that he would not get caught.

Robin had covered the distance between Nora's palace and his dorm with a smile on his face, without realising it. Frankly, these late night conversations between the two of them had started to become the best part of his life in this school.

He halted in his tracks when Myron noticed him and called out to get his attention.

"Robin! Is everything okay? Why are you smiling?"

Robin responded incredulously, looking at Myron as if he had suddenly sprouted ten heads.

"Smiling? Me! Have you forgotten I don't like that emotion?"

"I remember it very clearly, and this is why I have asked you."

Myron replied, wanting to tease him a little more, not knowing that Robin had gained his footing by now and was ready with a comeback, as he promptly replied;

"Yeah! I just remembered, I was under smiling and it was because I just remembered the plan Louis had shared with me, for your date with Valerie."

The words had the power to turn Myron into a tomato, as the pearly white colour of his face started to give a tough competition to the bright red colour of a cherry. He was struggling to come up with any reply, when Robin spoke again;

"It's okay, it's okay! You can blush later; as for now, let's head towards the mess before we miss the dinner and are counted as absent over there, calling a search operation for both of us."

Anger is everybody's enemy- but for David, it was the call of catastrophe he was carrying inside him.

Not only was the lava of anger pumping out of his guts, it had also brought a catastrophic alert within the whole kingdom.

Still, till this day, he was ready to deal with any of them knowing that the person who was on the receiving end of his anger belonged to a lower rank and status than him. But today… today, he had challenged a Princess!

The same Princess, whose pain was making him anxious. He needed to find a way to tame his anger along with how to undo his mistake…

Before he inevitably moved further in his quest to find out her reality.
