The mountains surrounding the Adeptus Mechanicus ruins were silent under the night sky, and Fio'O Shai'ten, the Ethereal in charge, felt a rare sense of calm. He knew the high stakes of their work here: extracting Imperium tech relics to fuel the Greater Good. His loyal Fire Warriors and Earth Caste engineers moved like clockwork under the glow of blue lights, efficiently loading crates and examining machinery within the abandoned facility. This mission was a covert one, hidden from all but the highest Tau ranks. Fio'O was confident that the planet's defenders were locked in conflict on other fronts, far from here. With calm and pride, he observed the work, his guards beside him.
Fio'O barely registered the softest of sounds before a hand clamped over his mouth, silencing him. A massive green fist, rough and scarred, held him tight, while a jagged blade pressed against his neck. His heart thundered as he caught a glimpse of his attacker's cruel, gleaming eyes. In a swift, brutal slash, the knife sliced his throat. The Ethereal's final sight was the Ork's sneering grin before everything went black, and the last sound he heard was a roar: WAAAGHHH
Mauork, being one of Da Boss's more cunning Boyz, had free rein in handling "fightin' stuff." Da Boss wanted one thing from him: hit those stupid Umies and Blue Boyz where it hurt—and where it was funny.
To that end, Mauork decided to skip the Hive City in favor of the weird blue flashing lights in the mountains up north. To get there, he enlisted Hogger and the Stormboyz. Using the cover of night, they humped off from Deef Star and let the Stormboyz tow them in space. The ride was entertaining, with "da most amazin' views." Mauork finally admitted that he now understood Trakk's obsession with riding in the truck with the windows rolled down, "just takin' it all in." From the height of open space, everything below looked small and puny, practically begging to be krumped.
When they finally reached the mountains, they unhooked the lines and began their skydive. Slowly, they entered the atmosphere. The drop took longer than expected, but it was worth it, as Mauork's keen Ork senses spotted several moving lights in the distance. His gut instinctively told him this was gonna be good. His gut was never wrong about good fights.
After they landed, the Boyz stealthily hid their trucks in some bushes. Before moving out, Mauork made his last report of the day, taking out a can with a piece of string attached to it and whispering into it.
"Mauork to Deef Star, we're in position." He waited a moment for the response.
"Yeah, Boss, just tell me when ta pick ya up," his trusted grot, Niggumpoop, replied.
"A'right. Bravo Six, goin' Purple." He stashed the can in his pocket, took out his knife and pistol, and led the Boyz up the mountain.
Mauork's Boyz crept silently through the forest, covering kilometers in record time. For humans, this would have been impossible—maybe even for the Astartes. But here they were, more than a hundred Orks, moving without disturbing even a single leaf.
Upon arriving at their destination, they spotted the Blue Boyz, surrounded by blue lights. Mauork grinned. The boss hated the Tau's "cultural appropriation," and he always said, "I fockin' hate blue. Except fer Deathskulls. They're alright."
"Back to da topic, ya stupid gits!" Mauork thought, snapping back to the task at hand. What he saw was an old Adeptus Mechanicus facility, now overrun by Tau. They were loading crates and inspecting loot, guarded by a few fancy-looking gits with heavy armored Nobz at their side. Then Mauork spotted something that made his heart race—a giant Imperial train with a cannon so large, Da Boss himself could've fit inside it.
This entirely changed his plans. Instead of a quick sneak-and-stab, it was now time to krump every Blue Boy in sight and take everything they could. His Boyz, seeing the gleam in his eye, readied themselves and waited for the command.
"A'right, first we sneak up an' kill them Nobz, nice an' quiet. Then, the rest o' ya storm in, and we krump 'em all!" Mauork pointed at the biggest Tau guards in exo suits, eyes narrowing. "I'll handle those fancy gits. Blue Boyz get stooped when they ain't got their boss around."
"How ya know, Boss?" asked his second-in-command.
"I killed a few when some o' their junk landed on our rock. Kill them fancy gits, an' they start runnin' like grots."
The Boyz nodded, ready to roll. Snipers positioned themselves around the facility, making sure none of the Tau could escape. Meanwhile, Mauork and a few others crept forward, slipping into the base. The Tau guards didn't suspect a thing.
Rookie mistake, Mauork thought with a grin. Rookie mistakes in this galaxy go unpunished by nobody.
Moving silently, Mauork took down any guard he couldn't sneak past, hiding their bodies in the nearby chests. The blue lights worked in his favor, helping him stay concealed and lucky. Before the Tau Nobz or the fancy gits even noticed anything was amiss, almost half the guards outside had been silently picked off. Only three green beads on Mauork's bandana were visible in the shadows.
With practiced precision, Mauork approached the Tau Ethereal, who still seemed oblivious to the lurking danger. Mauork sneaked up from behind, reached over, and clamped his hand around the Ethereal's mouth, bringing the knife close to his neck.
"WAAAAAAAAAAGHHH!" Mauork roared, slicing through the Ethereal's throat and tossing a smoke bomb at his feet as he disappeared back into the shadows. His Boyz didn't hesitate—moving fast, they struck, finding the smallest cracks in the Tau power armor to deliver fatal blows. Meanwhile, snipers fired, ensuring no Tau escaped.
When the smoke cleared, Mauork's grinning face appeared, bloody and triumphant. He took a moment to look around the now-quiet facility, feeling pleased with the "sneakin' job" they'd pulled off. With the mission complete, he pulled out his comm can.
"Mauork here. Job's done. Pick us up, an' tell Da Boss we got us a nice, big gun to loot."
