Chapter 9

I eat as everyone else just looks at me until someone comes walking through the doors; not bothering to look up as I continue to eat when I hear a few teachers whispering about the person. Curiously, I wanted to see who they were whispering about, but would it really be beneficial?

"What is that girl doing?"

That didn't take long; looking up, I saw Jess crouching the newcomer; the male was just staring at her, as if no one really came up to him. Before she could open her mouth, Molly grabs her and moves her away from the guy before giving him a flirty smile. Slightly upset with her, but didn't want to interfere with Jess's fun, so I waited.

"The girl's mother hasn't taught her anything.", she says as she stares at Jess.

Jessica just growls at her, knowing she was just insulted by the other dark creature; Molly just smiled at her, before turning her attention to the male.

"Tj never came here, the first week of college; what made him come?"

"I'm Molly, we'll be seeing each other around.", she says, then states.

The guy is Tj just stares at her, which is weird; "Come on Tj, she needs to be respected and besides, you haven't heard about our new teacher for the care of magical creatures!", a guy shouts.

"That's why I'm here.", he states bluntly.

"Really? Interesting, why though?", another guy asks.

"You never shown an interest in something like that unless it was because you found someone who interest you that took that class.", another guy states.

Well, if the guy didn't want his business known well, now he has no choice in that matter. Feeling slightly bad for the guy, but not enough to do anything. Continuing eating, monitoring Jess since I don't trust Molly; notice the guy wasn't really looking at any of them, he was just staring at Jess. Finding that quite confusing; she just stares back. Not wanting to pull my attention away from them, but couldn't help it.

"Headmistress Angel, why is your nephew just staring at the little girl?"

"Also, why is that little girl here? You would not tell us about the new human teacher?"

Rolling my eyes, then paying attention to Jess to see her sitting on her butt, glaring at Molly while the guy was being held back. Watching Molly as a prey and ignoring the rest as I keep my eyes on her.

"What does this little girl have that I don't?", she asks loudly.

Everyone shuts up to listen; Jess gets back on her feet before hissing at Molly, which made her hiss back. Great, now it's going to be a hissing contest. Nobody moves as we all watch this play out.

"What is a sad excuse for a vampire doing here at a college with a half-ling? God, we should kill-"

"Enough, Molly.", I snapped, interrupting her.

She spun her head before hissing at me; raising an eyebrow at her as if challenging her to do something, which she does. She makes a mad dash for me, front flipping, while ducking under her claws before giving her a low kick. She falls, taking this opportunity to get behind her and grabbing her arms while pinning my knee in the center of her back.

"You need to learn that just because I'm human doesn't mean I'm weak.", I snap, bending her upwards.

"Do I make myself clear?", I hissed.

She nods her head quickly, smirking. I release her from my hold as she runs off, turning to face the students, "Does anyone have something to add?", I ask, raising an eyebrow. Once I realized what happened, I quickly turned towards the headmistress to see her smiling before she nodded her head. Confused about that, but not dwelling on it, so I picked up Jess and headed out. Pulling my map out from my pocket to see the new number on which wasn't far from where the old room was; making it, and unlocking it to see a much bigger room with a full set kitchen. Putting her down, as we both explored the gigantic room, I headed straight for the kitchen while Jess went the opposite way. I'm enjoying the fact that the kitchen is an L shape with lights on the ceiling so no one can bump their heads. The kitchen has a glass stove with a microwave, microwave oven, a double sink, and an island with bar stools; the grey countertops complaints the wood cabinets. Making my way over to the rest of the place, I notice there's three bathrooms, which is wonderful. Moving along, I see the bedrooms. By the looks of things, Jess has already picked her room.

"Mama, this room is going to be mine! Do you think Mrs. Angel would let us paint the rooms a different color?", she says then asks once she saw me.

"I can see that dear, and why don't we go ask her.", I say.

She nods her head before running out of the room while grabbing my hand. Following right behind her as we make our way to the front door, when she opens it, she stops. Taking this time to wiggle my hand out of her hold before looking at what made her stop to see the very person we were looking for.

"I came to give you your college schedule along with the lesson plans.", she says.

"Cool, thanks. Would-"

"Is it okay if I wanted to paint a room a different color?", Jess asks.

"I have no problem with that. Just let me know what colors so I can get the paint for you. Also, it's best if you learn Russian. Most teachers here speak Russian when they're talking bad about someone when they're in the same room as them.", she answers, then explains.

"Sure, but I may not get a grasp of the language.", I state honestly.

"Все в порядке, я просто хочу, чтобы вы лучше понимали язык, чтобы вы могли знать, когда кто-то говорил о вас."

"That's sweet of you.", I answered without realizing it.

Both Jess and headmistress Angel stare at me as if I just spoke an unfamiliar language. Tilting my head at them before shrugging my shoulders and dropping the thought as I grab the folder that the headmistress was holding; looking inside, I notice that I'll be a teacher for three and four years about the oath and care. This makes it easier for me. Since I'm a freshman, I'll have a decent amount of homework from those teachers, let alone with a full class to grade as well.
