Chapter 21

"Who's there?", I ask, looking around.

"You won't be able to see me; I'm Reda.", she answers.

"Why am I able to hear you but not see if you…. Actually, don't answer that, you're dead, but I want to know why I'm able to hear you though.", I ask, then say.

"I wasn't here before. I was in a pitch-black room and then two days ago, there became light; I believe yesterday was the first day I wasn't in that room.", she explains.

Interestingly, the only thing that happened two days ago was me finding more information- the Phoenixes betrayed the Hybrida-Moon family, so maybe they put a curse on her? It's possible, but probably not likely. Great more information, I'll be needing to find; sighing, I decide to ask a few questions to see if I can't pinpoint what I need to be looking for.

"Miss Bahar, do you know why you were in that room?"

"No, but I remember that my ex-family betrayed the only allies they had.", she answers.

"I was just reading about that.", I state.

"Who are you? You have the aura of an ice and fire phoenix along with the marks you have.", she asks then says.

"I'm Raina Phoenix; I've recently been showing signs of being an ice/ fire phoenix because my daughter was in danger.", I answered her.

"What do you mean?"

"I was a half-ling until I got to Russia. Two days ago, I went to the store with my daughter when someone said something that she didn't agree with. I took her away from everyone, but one professor thought it would be a good idea to mess with someone who's trying to calm down a vampire child and when I had enough, three pairs of wings came out.", I explained.

"I see. I didn't know they had a second child.", she says, more to herself than me.

"What do you mean?", I ask.

"You don't know?", she asks.

"I wouldn't have asked if I did.", I stated bluntly.

"True.", she says.

"So, are you going to tell me or not?", I ask.

"Even if I wanted to, I can't.", she states, sadly.

"Okay, I'll probably find out more when I read more.", I say.

"What's your daughter's name?", she asks after a few minutes of silence.

"Jessica Hybrida-Moon Phoenix.", I say.

"Who married into the Hybrida-Moon family?", she asks, surprised.

"No one. I found her and made her my daughter.", I answered truthfully.

"Can I go see her?", she asks.

"As long as you don't wake her, if you do, you're putting her back to sleep.", I say.

"Got it.", she says.

I'm rooming with my friend, daughter, and now a ghost. This is just more interesting. Picking up the book once again, I read where I left off at; Because the Phoenix family killed the Hybrida-Moon's children, they put a curse on them.

"Come on.", I say, annoyed.

Great, now I have to worry about either curse; is there anything I should be worried about? If the Phoenix family ends up having two children, one child would die at childbirth; if they had three, then one would still die at childbirth while the second one killed. That's harsh, but I can understand why they put that curse on them. I wonder if I can find out how many children they killed. Now if they had five, then one would always die at childbirth, kill the second one, the third one would lose its sanity, the fourth one would live free, while the fifth was forgotten. So they killed five children, wonderful; didn't they think that through at all? The only ally they had, they turned their backs on, then killed their children; stupid is what they are. Once again, I read, the curse can only be broken if and only if the family has changed; if the family hasn't changed, then the curse will continue to happen. That was the last of the section. The next section reads, Abby Khoury. Reading into it, Abby Khoury is the mother of Reda Bahar; she had two other children, Mora and Simon. Abby Khoury was a half-ling before she married Darius Phoenix; Abby used to live in the countryside in the United States. Her family was poor, so she ended up taking on six different jobs just to help her family. When she was having a bad day with her job, Darius Phoenix came into her job, one look and she was in love. Now onto Darius Phoenix, he is what you would call a normal phoenix. he was upset because the Hybrida-Moon family was so well off, so when he found out about them having children after his wife had three children, did the curse come into play.

So they tried for more children after he killed their children, that's just sick. Closing the book, I place it back onto the nightstand and lean my head against the wall; every time I read about my family, the more I wish I didn't know. The Hybrida-Moon family has every right to not want to be allied with us, and it doesn't help when they found out about the experiments. I want to make Reda proud, but, I really don't want this bloodline to continue.

"You okay?", Reda asks.

"I'm fine.", I answered.

"You don't look fine.", she says.

"Mhm."

That was all I said as I covered my eyes with my forearm. Feeling someone sitting next to me, I slide over so there's room for her even though I know no one can physically see; sighing, I speak, "Ask, I can feel your eyes boring into me."

"What's on your mind?", she asks.

"A lot of things, be more specific.", I answered.

"What's on your mind right now.", she asks.

"I don't want this bloodline, but I also want to make you proud.", I say.

"Well, from what I gathered from you and your daughter so far is-"

"Wait, how long have you been here?", I ask, interrupting her.

"A while; sorry. Anyway, like I was saying from what I saw with you and Jessica, you love her dearly even though you know where she's from.", she says.
