CHAPTER 9

  A whistling sound pierced the quiet room unceremoniously. Peach placed both hands on either side of her ears like it would stop the sound from ringing through them. It did not. In frustration, she slammed the mirror styled alarm clock on the floor. The sound died immediately.

  She hit her head back on the pillow, hoping to get a few hours of rest, but sleep had gone so far from her. She grabbed a spare pillow on her left side, using it to cover her face in a weak attempt to get her needed rest. It did not work. All, she got was a headache.

  She tossed the pillow aside, climbing out of bed. A hot coffee is what she needed. She wore her rabbit slides that was positioned on the right side of her bed, carefully. She could feel the untapped energy moving through her, thanks to a night of unrest. She hadn't slept a wink all night.
