Chapter 10: Romiere The Conquerer

  [Moyra's POV]

"It is nice to finally meet you, Lord Romiere." I murmured, giving a small bow. "I apologize for breaking traditions."

My heart was hammering in my chest as I basked in the energy that belonged to the man I was to marry. I could only hope that he would still accept me given my current condition.

"No need for formalities." Romiere boomed, stepping forward. "We will soon be husband and wife, and as such, we should talk more intimately."

Holding back the grimace that wanted to escape me due to the possessiveness in his tone, I nodded.

"And you, sir." Romiere continued, taking his attention off of me. "I've set up lodgings for you and your man for the night."

"Thank you." Eli responded calmly. "Do you mind showing us the way? I'd like to wash up a bit before tonight's banquet. "

"Banquet?" I repeated, feeling a slight sense of foreboding. "What's the occasion?"

"Performing our blood trade." Romiere responded easily.
