CHAPTER Twenty-Two

  Ryland

I had just pulled up outside my house getting back from my time with Ben and the girls. I stepped out of my car, and as I did, I saw Gracie’s “father” staggering up the pathway. He looked like a pathetic excuse of a human being. My anger was building just at the sight of him. My fists were clenched by my side, and my breathing was getting heavier. I have not felt this angry in a long time, and being this mad is not a good thing for me. I was using all the control I had in me to stop going over to him and knocking him cleanout. Who would know it was me Except I knew I couldn’t do that; Gracie wouldn’t want that. So, I decided to head inside before I did something I shouldn’t. He was not worth it. His time will come, Karma will come back around to bite him. I just wish I could take Gracie away from that house, and from him for good.
