CHAPTER FIFTY ONE

  Ryland

It was my eighteenth birthday tomorrow. I would officially be classed as an adult, which means Gracie and I could view apartments. And we already have arranged a few viewings for Monday, after school. I suggested we did it tomorrow, but Gracie was adamant that I wasn’t to do anything other than what she had planned for us. What those plans were, I had no clue. I didn’t want a party, and everyone respected that. Whatever Gracie planned, she had been sorting it for the last few days. Whenever I came into the room, she closed the laptop, and when I asked what she was doing, she would tell me it was a surprise.

Gracie didn’t need to make any effort because I would have been happy just spending it with her and our friends. It was all very sweet, though, and I will do the same for her when she turns eighteen next month.
