CHAPTER 139

Ryland had texted to say he was running late because he got held up at college, but I didn’t mind. I had my bath, changed into my pjs and was feeling a little more relaxed now. I decided to call my dad for a chat; hopefully, he wasn’t too busy.

I scrolled through my contracts, found him and hit the call button. It rang only two times before he answered, “Hello, angel, this is a nice surprise,” he chirped.

“Hey, dad, I hope I didn’t disturb anything” I asked, not wanting to get in the way of his work.

“No, of course not. You could never disturb me, sweetie. I was actually going to call you later to see if we could meet for lunch tomorrow” I hadn’t seen him in over a week. I may have been avoiding him too.

“Sure. I have classes until one and then start working at three, but we could meet between then!” It would be nice to see him.

“Yes, I can meet you at the campus, and we can decide where to go” he suggested.

“Sure, sounds good, Dad,” I replied.
