CHAPTER FIFTEEN

(Monday the 18th of August)

Maryam's POV

"Maryam"

"Maryam"

"Maryam" a voice whispered my name from behind as I was shaking completely my body was stiff as I was shaking out of fear and anxiety.

"Maryam" I heard her voice call up to me as I turned back to look at her.

"What" I managed to say in a low tone as it was not only my body that was shaking but my mind also because I could hardly produce sounds from my mouth.

"Maryam, please ever happens, stay alive and tell the world or story," she said as she cried bitterly, she was already wounded and Ben's blood was dripping down from her body, I doubt if she would make it out alive.

"Okay," I said as I tried my best to push back tears but just like a volcano I also have my threshold and I could only hold back tears for a small amount of time, so the water fountain in my eyes we're running again, I can't believe this is how we say goodbye.

"Found you" I heard a woman's voice call from behind where the sick girl was, I don't even know her name but I guess it is all good, don't think that's important anymore.

"Please" she begged as I could only hear her voice and everything about her getting fainter, I squeezed a piece of my cloth in my mouth as I screamed in a low tone not to finish my strength but just enough to vent my anger out, if only I know we would not have tried to escape maybe then she would still be alive by now.

"Huh," I said as I woke up from my sleep I jerked out of my bed as saliva found its way into my air pipe.

*cough, I began to cough as the saliva interrupted my breathing, my eyes felt like they were going to pop out and my neck felt like someone was strangling me from behind I continued to cough out as I hit my chest repeatedly trying to free it up, but is this how my life will end me alone in my room.

In a blink of an eye Divine found her way into my room and came straight to my bed as she began helping me pat my back.

"There there," she said as she moved her hand in a circular motion, I didn't understand what she was doing but it seems to be working somehow as my air pipe felt open as saliva fell out of my mouth.

"Huh" I took a deep breath in and out as I was now relieved of this heavy burden.

"There you go darling," she said as she looked at me with her worried eyes.

"Thanks," I said as I cleared my throat from the saliva that wanted to build up again, "um" and swallowed it.

"What happened?" She asked.

"Nothing, I just had a nightmare" I responded.

"Nightmare, how bad was it?" She asked.

"I don't think I can remember the details but someone was calling my name, that's all I heard my name" I replied.

"Okay," she said as she came closer to me and gave me a big hug, "you would be fine" she whispered into my ears.

She added "am sure your memories would be back if you continue taking the drug I gave you, so please darling continue"

"Okay," I said as she reduced her grip on me, I wonder if this was how I was going to continue suffering before I finally get my memories back, I want to know what is going on.

"Maryam, everything would make sense in due time but for now you have to trust me," she said as she moved her body from mine.

"I will try," I said as she held my hand in between hers.

"Please do take your drugs daily" she instructed.

"Where is mom?" I asked, it has been a while since she last came to visit me.

"Darling she is busy with some other thing," she said.

"Some other thing, what could that be?" I asked, as she turned her face to the other side which stopped us from making eye contact she also dropped my hand.

"I don't know darling," she said as she stood up and began to walk out "she would be back soon," she said as she locked my door behind her.

What was this all about? And why didn't she want to talk about mom? I have always noticed that whenever I asked her any question regarding anything that wasn't about me right now she always looks pissed and uninterested, what's her deal?

*cling, I heard a pop sound come from my phone, this was a first of its kind who or what must have sent me that message?

I quickly stood up and began walking towards my dresser where I usually dropped my phone, I picked it up and walked back to my bed my legs felt free for the first time in a while I want leaping or struggle to move them even tho they still felt heavy, I am getting better.

I swiped up my phone and let out a sign of disgust on my face, it was a message from google, sad. My bed was a bit discomforting these days I guess maybe it is because I spend my whole day and night in it. It is a brand new day and I should be outdoors exploring not in here doing nothing, I quickly went to freshen up as I wanted to go downstairs for the first time I want to see what is outside this room.

I took my phone and hid it in my back pocket for its safety I picked my glass from my bed gave it a quick wipe and fixed it perfectly on my nose and ears, the world makes sense again now that I can see.

I opened the door as slowly as possible "what was I hiding from?" a voice in my head spoke, "who knows better safe than sorry" another voice answered it as I locked the door behind me.
