Untamed Desire: Part XX

LILYANNA'S P.O.V.

I continued to make an effort at prying his cold fingers from my neck. My lungs felt like they were on fire as they desperately tried to receive air. I frantically looked around the room to see if there was anything I could use to my advantage. I knew I needed to hurry as my mind became fuzzier; my vision fading in and out. I winced as I felt a large object hit my side causing my eyes to be drawn down. I felt relieved because I realized that what hit me was the plastic bag hanging from my arm caring my glass vase. A light sparked in my mind as I realized that I found my advantage.

I extended my left arm out allowing the bag to slide down until I caught it with the edge of my wrist. I slowly wiggled my fingers until I was able to get a good grip on the bag handles. With all of my remaining strength I swung the bag up and it struck him against the head. I heard the glass vase shatter as his grip finally released from my throat. I fell to my knees and brought my hand to my chest. My lungs were ecstatic as the cold air wafted in allowing my vision to come back clear. Jason hit the ground not moving as I stared at his body amongst the broken glass.

~Is he unconscious? I don't care right now, I need to get me and Una out of here!~

I slowly got off of the floor and regained my footing, my knees were shaking. I glanced over at Una, she was still unconscious on the floor. I wrapped my arms under hers and around her chest and started to lift her up. My body ached in pain as I tried to drag her toward the door. I wasn't used to carrying something so heavy. I crept slowly towards the wide-open door Una's car parked right outside. A glimmer of hope reached me as we approached closer to the door threshold.

~It's okay, Una! I'm going to get us out of here! I'm going to get you out of here!~

"Where the hell do you think you're going? We're not done yet!"

I looked forward in horror as Jason got up from the floor. I tried to get out of the apartment as fast as I could with Una, frantically looking back and toward the door. I felt a sharp pain as he gripped a cluster of my hair and yanked it up forcing my eyes to look into his.

"Let me go, Jason!"

"And why would I do that? Do you know how long it took me to find you?"

"No, and I don't care!"

"Talking back to me?" He waved his finger as he softly clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. "We can't have that now, can we?"

He tugged harder on my hair causing me to scream in agony. I attempted to keep a hold of Una but the pain caused me to lose my grip. Tears fell from my eyes as Una's body fell to the floor once more. My scalp began to burn as he yanked on my hair again causing me to lose my balance and fall. His grip on my hair was still tight stopping my head from hitting the ground. Before I could do anything Jason began to pull and he dragged me into the living room.

~Shit, shit, shit! What am I going to do now!? I need to distract him, hopefully, that will give me enough time to think of something. ~

"What do you want, Jason!? Why are you here?"

"Isn't it obvious?" He once again yanked my hair until my eyes were locked with his. "I want you back Lilyanna. I've missed you and with you gone I've just been a complete mess."

"Well, you can't have me back, Jason! I'm not yours! We are no longer together don't you remember? I mean, I thought the restraining order against you was clear enough!"

"Shut up!" He hissed through his clenched teeth. "You… are mine Lily. You will always be mine."

"I'll never be yours!"

"Why? Is it because of the guy who bought you those flowers?" He pointed to the sunflower and rose bouquet that still rested on the floor. "Do you think we are over because this other guy bought you something? Oh, you sad little whore. Tell me, did he fuck you?"

"Shut up!"

"Is that why he got you flowers?"

"Shut up!"

"To buy you for another round?"

"Shut the fuck up!"

"You want to know what I think of your new little guy friend?" He let go of his grip on my hair only to grab zip ties from his pockets and forcibly bound my hands behind me as well as my feet together. He picked up the bouquet and sat down next to me on the living room carpet. "I think you two were never meant to last. Just like these flowers; fragile and short-lived."

He held the flowers under his nose as he began plucking the tops of the flowers one by one, crushing them up in his fists.

"Did you really think I'd ever let you be with somebody else, Lily? That you could move away from me and try to start a new life? Whether you like it or not, you… are… mine. And I'm never going to let you go."

"I… hate… you!" I cried as I watched the petals fall to the floor.

"Oh… sweet, Lilyanna. I don't care how much you hate me. You'll change your mind… in time."

"You'll never change my mind!" I hissed. I inched away from him as he leaned in closer, a sinister smile stained across his lips. Shivers were sent down my spine as his nauseating, warm breath touched my skin.

"You don't have a choice," he muttered in my ear. My instincts kicked in as soon as I realized that Jason exposed himself in a vulnerable position. I sharply turned my neck to him and dug my teeth into the nape of his neck. He yelled in pain and tried to push me away. I dug my teeth further in until the sour taste of iron was laced on my lips. He finally managed to push me back. The bright crimson red blood shined against his olive skin.

"You fucking bitch!" my cheek stung and burned as his palm struck against my cheek, causing me to fall to the floor.

"Lily!" Someone yelled in the distance. Their tone was frantic, yet familiar. "Lily, I'm coming!"

"Look's like we got company." Jason looked towards the open door chuckling hysterically. He then looked toward me and grabbed my jaw. "Don't worry, I'll come for you later."

I watched as Jason opened my living room window and climbed out, leaving me tied up on the ground. I tried to calm my frantic breath as I cried warm streams of my tears. Memories of living in Louisiana flashed in and out of my mind. The hitting, the throwing, the verbal and physical abuse. I began to feel overwhelmed with everything flooding back to me all at once.

~Why? Why did he have to come back? Why couldn't he just leave me alone?~

"Lily!" The familiar voice from earlier got louder. I felt the vibrations of each step as they ran up to me. "Oh my goddess, Lily what happened?"

I looked up and found Indigo standing over me. His shaky hands hugged his sides with a clenched fist.

"Indy… how did you get here?"

"It doesn't matter right now. Let's just focus on getting you and Una out of here," He fell to his knees beside me. His hand reached over to touch me but he hesitated, I could hear the rapid pace of his breath. "What did he do to you?"

~Wait… did he see Jason?~

"Lily… I'm going to break the zip ties off of you." Indy reached behind me and snapped off the zip ties with his bare hands. He gently placed his arms under me and pulled me onto his lap, softly brushing the hair out of my face. I felt so warm and safe in his arms like I was relieved that he was here. I stared into his eyes, they were swirling with so many emotions. My heart broke a little when I saw a few tears fall down his cheeks.

"Indy, you don't need to cry." I wiped off his tears. I then heard sirens softly sounding in the distance gradually getting heavier. I looked up as red and blue lights reflected on the ceiling and walls.

"Una… how's Una?"

"She's alive but she is hurt really bad. Don't worry, everything is going to be okay." The next few moments were nothing but a blur. Paramedics rushed in and placed both me and Una on gurneys rushing us both to the back of ambulances. Our neighbors were standing outside their apartments, staring at the commotion. The last thing I saw before they closed the ambulance doors was Indigo standing outside looking right at me.

~What am I going to do now?~
