Josiah’s P.O.V
If I had to describe the color of the inside of the castle, it would be gold. So. Much. Gold. I was certain that the castle could rival fabled cities of gold with how much gold there was throughout the palace ballroom alone.
Stepping into the ballroom, there were so many aristocrats doing what they did best—bargaining. It made me almost feel ashamed to be in their presence. I stayed close to the wall to try and get out of hearing all the talks of marriages and titles. However, I was almost immediately swept up into a dance by a lord that I assumed had been following me with his eyes since I walked in with Levi.
“May I have the honor of the first dance?” he had asked. If I was expecting the vampires to at least have shreds of personality to differentiate them, I was wrong. I bit back my tongue and bowed to him gently, “Of course, sir.” He took my hand immediately and pulled me off into the crowd.
