My return to the Avarian keep was a dreaded one. When my ship arrived at port I had half expected to be greeted by Josiah; however I didn’t. I did at the very least find the stroll back to the vampiric keep refreshing. Especially after the insufferable diplomatic business I had to endure the last week or so.


The first thing I heard when stepping into the keep was the screaming. While hearing screams was not uncommon inside the palace walls, the brawl between Malik and Josiah was most peculiar. I hid away in my mother’s apartments to greet her properly, despite her having the unpleasant fortune of seeing Malik and Josiah’s squabble firsthand.
