Chapter 39: I Want Him

Josiah’s P.O.V.

He hadn’t done anything wrong. He could never do wrong—not in my eyes. That was what made being with him so infuriating. It was most often for couples to find faults in one another and work past them to strengthen each other.

His eyes enraptured me, and his words haunted my dreams. I wanted nothing more than to have him wrap me up and take me to cloud nine. While all at once I wanted to keel over with how quickly I was susceptible to his charms. Asmodyus was so much of an enigma that I wasn’t sure if I wanted to discover him properly.

The light of the fireplace encased Asmodyus in a warm glow. Seeing him in this light, so close while being so infuriatingly far away—I turned away from him. I knew he hated the way I was ignoring him. I covered my mouth slightly as I heard him let out a low growl of frustration. He approached me from behind, wrapping his arms around me again.
