Chapter 40: The Drakes and Vampires

Josiah’s P.O.V.

There was an unwelcome sense of dread that befell me as I woke up the next morning. It certainly wasn’t something I wanted to feel when waking up after my embrace of Asmodyus. The blinding of the sunlight did not help matters as it woke me up most rudely. I groaned softly and turned away from the sun, into the feeling of Asmodyus’ chest.

“Will you not look at me this morning, songbird?”

I shook my head against the pillow, peeking up at him from behind my hair. I wrapped my arms under the pillow, pulling it close as if it was my only defense from him.
