Chapter 144: The dark candy of Honeydukes (Edited)

Dumbledore gave a slightly boyish grin, "Honeydukes has a new product on sale today, so I came to buy it, how about you? Gilderoy, why did you think to come to Hogsmeade?"

Tom scratched his head, "I came to buy candy at Honeydukes too, I lost a bet earlier."

"Great, looks like you've learned the wonders of candy too." Dumbledore stroked his beard and pulled Snape aside without a word, "Let me show you around. Well, it just so happens that I can recommend some new kinds of sweets for you..."

Snape, seeing this, turned away from the two. His presence here today, to get potion ingredients, was just an excuse, his main purpose was to keep an eye on this strange Lockhart, to see what he wanted to do outside of school. But since Dumbledore was willing to accompany him, he need not interfere.

He took a long stride toward the Hogsmeade post office.

Tom was "walked" by Dumbledore to Honeydukes. As soon as he saw Dumbledore, he understood his and Snape's intentions. But he had expected it, as the saying went, "unexpected but logical".

But there was a serious problem.

Dumbledore was a man with a spotlight effect, and he and Dumbledore were walking down the street, attracting almost all eyes.

"Professor, isn't this a little too high profile..." Tom was uncomfortable with the feeling of being watched wherever he went, maybe Lockhart would have liked it, but he disliked it.

"High profile?" Dumbledore was a little puzzled and looked down at his robes, "You wore a very simple dress today."

Indeed, Dumbledore wore only a blue wizard's robe today, with only a few small yellow stars in the corners, the robe was plain. But it was Dumbledore who wore it! Dumbledore could have caught everyone's attention even if he was only wearing a plain wizard's robe.

"No, Professor..." Tom didn't know how to describe it to Dumbledore.

Dumbledore smiled and said, "But don't you enjoy other people's looks more?"

Tom: _(:з"∠)_

Tom was speechless for a moment.

"Yes, but no, I'm not simply enjoying other people's looks, I ..." He struggled to organize his words, Tom had thought of a wonderful excuse, but this excuse was too shameless.

However, Dumbledore seemed to have understood, "Yes! People look at me, and naturally they don't look at you. No way, let's go to Honeydukes first, Dumbledore will have to take the new sweets. By the way, Gilderoy, where do you want to go next?"

Tom: I've already executed Occlumency, but can you still see my inner thoughts, Headmaster?

"I read in a book that in 1612 there was a goblin rebellion near the school. At that time, the wizards used a tavern in Hogsmeade village as a command post, and I feel like visiting the tavern, if it still exists" Said Tom.

Dumbledore: "..."

Tom: "???"

Dumbledore dusted himself off and told Tom that the pub was now called "The Pig's Head", he said this to Tom: "The Pig's Head patrons hide their true colors, if I went there as Dumbledore would not be welcome, the barman would probably throw me out."

"No way, no way" Tom smiled and then chatted casually with Dumbledore.

In this atmosphere, the two entered Hogsmeade.

[Mission: Tour the World]

[Objective: explore the magical world]

[Stage 5]

[Progress 1/16]

[Map of Hogsmeade unlocked].

Until now, Tom had never actually set foot on the ground of Hogsmeade.

Dumbledore brought Tom to the front of Honey Duke's store quickly. They were early today and there weren't many people in the store. Dumbledore took the initiative and pushed open the door.

The shelves of the store were filled with all kinds of sweets: creamy yellow marzipan, bright pink coconut-flavored sherbet, honey-colored greasy caramel, hundreds of chocolates, Bertie Bott's Glacies of all flavors in a huge oak barrel, and Levitating Ice Cream, a juicy scoop of custard that you could suck on to make you float.

There's also super inflatable bubble gum, which fills the room with bubbles that won't break for days, ice mice that move, toad-shaped mint ice cream that pulsates, feather-shaped sugar candy and latte flies....

Such is the world of fairy tales in a child's mind. Of course, some of the treats are a bit heavy, like those toads and cockroaches.

Tom's eyes widened, stopping one step at a time, and by the time he reached the counter, both hands were full.

Dumbledore stepped in front of the counter and a broad, balding man came running up. It was the owner of the store, Ambrosius Frum. Looking at his bald head, Tom didn't think that baldness was a disease that even magic couldn't save.

"Headmaster Dumbledore, I didn't expect you to be here so early today." He bowed to Dumbledore and then looked back at Tom, "Mr. Lockhart, your presence here makes my store look very nice." He then picked up a large box from the counter.

"Here are the sweets you ordered, Mr. Dumbledore," he said as he opened the box, revealing dozens of sweets, but there were a few in there that were very striking.

Tom's mind filled with a gasp: there was a palm-sized unicorn in the center of the box, glowing blue.

"What's that?"

"A violet unicorn, a milk chocolate unicorn, full of violet petals and filled with violet nectar." Ambrose Frum enthusiastically presented Tom with the latest in candy, the purchase of which cost seven sickles.

Tom looked at the chocolate unicorn, trussed up like a fuzzy crab, and had a horrible thought: this thing can't fly, can it?

He asked about it, and it really can fly! Even the wings become very realistic, it is said that one bite will burst honey.

Tom looked at Dumbledore, who was looking off to the side, and suddenly thought it wasn't surprising that the guy would do something like that, he even liked cockroach cones! It was a candy that looked a lot like a cockroach. Anyone who can eat that kind of candy, Tom thought, is a tough guy.

Watching Dumbledore pull out his wallet and buy the big box of personalized candy, Tom decided not to ask what Dumbledore had bought.
