CHAPTER ELEVEN: SUSPICIONS

The school was over, it was time to go home. Sandra walked around inside the school, trying to find Indigo's class so that they could go home together. As she walked, she opened surrounding doors to check if those were one of his classrooms. She opened a door to meet Jesse on a phone call. "Oh my God, I'm so sorry." She whispered. She wanted to close the door when Jesse signalled to her that she should wait.

"...okay Vy, I'll call you later," Jesse said as he hung up the phone. He told Sandra to come in, as shy as she was, she managed to go in. Jesse wasn't sure of Sandra's name so he said sceptically, "Sandra Mage right?" Sandra corrected him by saying, "No it's Sandra Sage." As she chuckled. "Silly me!" Jesse said as he adjusted his hair.

Whilst they talked, Sandra never for once looked him in the eye. She found him very much attractive that she couldn't look him in the eye. "Why won't you look at me?" Jesse asked Sandra calmly. "I don't know," Sandra said under her breath. "It's okay, I don't bite." Jesse joked about it. He dragged her closer to him softly, and then he said to her again, wearing a lustful look on his face, "Look at me, Sandra Sage."

Sandra found the courage to look at him. She had the most beautiful eyes. "You have the most beautiful eyes." He said with lusciousness in his tone. "Thank you," Sandra whispered. Jesse sent shivers down her spine as he touched her slowly from her waist down to her bums. When Sandra felt his hands on her bums, she pulled herself away from him.

"Forgive me. I shouldn't have done that." Jesse blurted out. "But you did," Sandra said with so much sadness. Then she realized the mistake she would have made. She was ashamed of herself and she left Jesse engulfed in her tears. When she left, she bumped into Indigo. "What happened? Why are you crying." Indigo asked her worriedly.

Sandra knew that Indigo hated Jesse. Though the reason was unknown to her, so she lied in order to avoid further problems. "My favourite football team lost today." She lied, as she sniffed. "You watched football?" Indigo asked surprisingly. "Unfortunately, the heartache that comes with it is so unbearable," Sandra said. "Well, I'm so sorry your team lost Sandy." Indigo apologized, trying to cheer his friend up.

As they waited for Indigo's mum to arrive, they discussed, "Let's talk about Jesse." Sandra said as she folded her arms. "Why? I saw the way you looked at him earlier at the cafeteria." Indigo said indifferently. "Whatever's going on in your mind, just know I'm not in love with him," Sandra said, clarifying her intentions.

"You're a smart girl, I know you wouldn't make such a mistake by falling for that asshole," Indigo said, smiling at Sandra. Meanwhile, Sandra had so many thoughts running through her head. They waited for minutes and Carmen hadn't arrived yet.

Jesse came out of the school ready to go home as well. As he passed the hallways, he saw Hailey's picture, "...last found Gilmore High summer party" He murmured as he read. He got furious that he ripped the flyer off the wall and took it with him. Outside, he sighted Sandra and was prepared to meet her, but when he saw Indigo was with her, he backed off. But he watched her from afar, he lusted over her. Damn, she's pretty! He thought to himself as he licked his lips.

Shortly, Indigo's mum arrived, she apologized for being late and they hopped in her car and she drove off. At Sandra's home, everyone was excited to hear about her first experience at Gilmore High. "So, how was it?" Her mother asked eagerly. Sandra took a dramatic pause for some minutes, "Mom, Dad, Mikey,"

At the hearing of this, her parents began to doubt that she had a great day. Then wearing a fake smile, she said, "I love Gilmore High!!!!" Her parents began to jubilate. "Oh my baby, I'm so proud of you!" Her father said as he kissed her on her forehead.

Sandra knew what she faced at school. But it wasn't as worse as what she faced at her former schools. She kept saying to herself that everything was going to be alright.

...

At Jesse's place, Collins and Matthew were seated on his couch waiting for him. He finally entered wearing a rather disturbed look on his face. As he came in, he fiercely dragged Matthew by his jacket, "What the fuck did you do huh?" Jesse said trying to control his anger. Matthew as dazed as he was said, "What the fuck dude!" Collins sat there watching the drama.

Jesse let go of Mathew and showed him the flyer he saw in school. "Oh yeah, I saw that as well," Collin said. "You killed her didn't you?!" Jesse yelled. With his hands barely up in the air, Matthew said, "What do you mean I killed her! I was with you all fucking night!"

"But I can recall leaving you all alone after the meeting," Jesse said. "I didn't do it, man. I swear on Collins's life." Matthew said. "Fuck you dude!" Collins yelled. Shortly, Vy intervened, "What's going on?" Jesse explained to his brother, "Brother, we're in deep shit." Collins tried to calm the situation by saying, "We don't necessarily know which species did it. It could be a vampire, a witch or a Werewolf."

"Why not a human?" Mathew asked. Then Collins replied, "Cause we don't kill our kind when we have your kinds around living with us."

"60 per cent of this town is plagued by werewolves. So all accusing fingers point to our kind." Vy said. "Let me have a look at the flyer." He added. As he looked at it he realized that what was written was that she was missing, not dead. "But brother, why'd you jump to conclusions? It says here that she's missing, not dead!"

"This is two weeks now brother, she was obviously someone's dinner. I know she's dead." Jesse said confidently. His brother advised him to be more optimistic. "Which brings us to why I'm here," Collin said. "My family protects the human faction in this city! And if any rule is breached, there are consequences. Mathew hasn't paid for his." He added.

"I already told you, Collins, it wasn't my fault," Mathew said, defending himself. "What exactly was your story again Matthew?" Vy asked.

"I don't really remember, all I know is that I woke up in the southern parts of Gilmore town, in that very woods that your friend, Hilary was missing. I'm a stray wolf, and I need help." Matthew said.

"So where does Collins come in?" Vy asked, as he leaned to one side of the wall and crossed his hands. "It was the middle of the fucking night. They were hunters all over the place and I had to defend myself!" Matthew said.

"So you killed them all?" Vy asked. "No, I left one badly injured," Matthew said as he bent his head, ashamed of himself. "Unfortunately, that 'one' was my uncle," Collins said as he stood up from the chair. "Dude, they were all related to you one way or the other," Jesse said.

"That one was my favourite one," Collin said, trying to keep a straight face. "Don't worry Collins, we'll do something about it," Vy assured Collins. All through their discussion, Jesse never for once believed Mathew. He was adamant about him being a paramount suspect and a feign.
