Hordes of regular Dead Mutants began to swarm in speedily from the tavern-like buildings with a lust for blood. Whose blood were they lasting after? That of the two system holders; Dezhong Prince, the soon-to-be Shadow King, and Krista Monroe, the Feline Ancient's successor.

At the moment, the two teens, fully transformed in their beast forms, found themselves in an abandoned fortress that was once a habitat for Shadow Beings. Now abandoned and empty, the fortress became a stronghold for its new inhabitants.

Dark Force entities, creatures that lived in the darkest, most barren, and deadliest outskirts of the Shadow Realm, often rested in old settlements such as the fortress looking for food and Shadow Cores.

Neither Dezhong nor Krista knew what the cores were for or why the entities wanted them but judging by their numbers, the cores must have been insanely valuable or powerful.
