____Yuji Pov____

Akoya was a disgusting person. His mere existence made me angry, and this was by no means without justification. The man was a damned serial killer, who used "justice" as a motive for his actions. At first, I didn't care what he did or didn't do, after all, he was only killing criminals, which I did many times during my travels.

But it did not take long for me to discover that the situation was not as simple as I had imagined.

It was out of sheer curiosity that I ended up using my right as a candidate for Metsudo Fangs to access the association's database. It was a bit of a shock to discover that the association covered up some cases of Akoya murders, where most of his victims were innocent people with no criminal background.

In the past I would have been furious with the association, but I understood that this was the way things worked. All it took was a good bribe for some information officers to keep everything secret. There wasn't much that could be done about it, since the association was so huge, not even the president could do much in this kind of situation.

But knowing this did not stop my hatred for Akoya.

Meeting him at the tournament only served to increase this hatred to the point that it made me immediately want to kill him.

Besides the pity I felt for Hiayama, killing him was the main reason I approached the woman. I knew I couldn't just kill him, since that might cause a stir with the businessmen who were betting on him. Of course, I could easily solve this with a conversation with old Katahara, but that would be a bit problematic.

So I ended up thinking: Why not use his own madness for that?

If I could bring Hiyama to my side, that would surely drive Akoya to his manic state, which would give me a great excuse to eliminate him, after all, I was still a bodyguard who needed to protect the physical integrity of the guests...

But although apparently my conversation with Hiyama had an effect on her, I ended up needing to address some of her sentimental side to do so. Just seeing her aura I knew that using guilt against her wouldn't work, so I needed to use something a little more effective.

It may sound cruel, but if I could bring her to my side in this way, then as a man, I would take on whatever came next.

____Narration____

[Zone], a technique that consists of counterattacking at the moment the opponent is focused on his attack. With Imai as the user of this technique, the counterattack doesn't end up lasting even a tenth of a second, making it almost impossible for opponents to react.

Akoya had studied the technique enough to know this, so together with Hiyama, he devised countermeasures to nullify such a technique. With the woman's help, he managed to find a way to change his focus the moment Imai used the [Zone], but this depended entirely on Hiyama, who would send a signal on his wire.

But... Where was Hiyama?

[Akoya was able to block the triangle just barely!]

Over the course of the fight, Akoya easily dominated Imai in every exchange of blows, which made him quite wary of the blond man, since even though he was outclassed, he chose to continue fighting standing. But that really didn't matter, since with the damage he continued to receive, it was only a matter of time before he would give in to his injuries.

But something was strange for Akoya. Even after 2 minutes of fighting, Hiyama still hadn't contacted him, which left him on quite alert, after all, knowing her, he knew that 1 minute was more than enough for her to be able to complete her analysis.

'Then what's taking her so long?!' He thought, his teeth clenching as he struggled to keep Imai from strangling him with her legs.

Distracted by the woman's delay, a single glance at the audience in search of her was exactly what his opponent needed. Imai was perceptive, noticing the exact moment Akoya withdrew her attention from him, taking advantage of this moment to capture him with her technique.

But the policeman demonstrated his monstrous reaction speed by being able to prevent the strangulation by using his fist at the side of his neck.

'Unacceptable.'

'Incorrigible.'

'You are all against my justice!!!'

Imai's eyes widened as he saw Akoya lifting him up with the intention of smashing him to the ground, her quick thinking allowing him to get loose before the policeman could complete his move, in an instant reaching his back and beginning to strangle him with her arms.

"You damn..." Akoya said with hatred, his expression turning grim as he prepared to pierce Imai's forearm. "I'll teach you what justice is!"

"The fight is over!"

"..."

Suddenly, the referee's voice ceased all the noise from the audience, Akoya's eyes widening in surprise as Imai let go of the policeman and looked at the referee with confusion.

"Due to the withdrawal of Wakasa Life Insurance, the victory goes to Imai Cosmo!"

[What?! What an anticlimactic twist!]

The moment Akoya heard him, the surprise in his eyes was immediately replaced by shock, his mind taking a few seconds to process what had just happened. Imai, standing next to the policeman, looked around uncomfortably at the fact that he was winning due to a surrender.

"What? Don't you get it yet?"

Akoya raised his head as he heard an unfamiliar voice in his ear, he immediately recognized it.

"I'll explain it to you, you idiot."

He turned toward the entrance to the arena, his murderous aura exploding from his body as he saw the one responsible for causing all this.

"You lost, now get out of there."

In the alley leading to the arena, Yuji had Hiyama's radio in his hands as he looked at the policeman with a small smile on his lips, the woman right behind him refusing to look at Akoya.

"..."

"I see, Hiyama... So you chose death..." Akoya took her attention away from Yuji, her eyes landing on the woman, who cringed as she felt the murderous intent directed at her, a huge smile appearing on the man's lips. "Very well, I will make you and Yuji Shinakawa feel my justice."

Boom!
