CHAPTER 25

Magic clashed against Magic, causing explosions to go off in the sky like dirty fireworks. The Light Elf and the Necromancer seemed even in power, but the longer the battle went on, the more obvious it was for all to see how much the Light Elf was straining herself. The Light Elf panted heavily while weaving between spells and casting her own; meanwhile, the enemy Dark Elf barely broke a sweat as she avoided the Light Elf’s attacks, seeming the least bit bothered.

While indecision continued to weigh Vilda down, Axis brandished his weapon, preparing to join the fight. However, she raised her arm to stop him from proceeding.

“What are you doing?!” Axis exclaimed as he turned to Vilda. “I know she’s your sister, but since she’s attacking us, we need to fight back!”

“I already told you, Axis,” Vilda replied sternly while glaring back at him, “you won’t be doing any fighting as long as I’m tasked with protecting you.”

“And you still haven’t told me who that task came from!”
