CHAPTER 26

When the blade was swung, the twin Dark Elves had different expectations. Whereas Vilda thought Axis’s attack on the cage would backfire terribly, Livia believed that even if he managed to cut through the cage, he would only cut down the spirit of the Light Elf as a result, setting her fate in stone. The only reason the Necromancer tried to stop him along with her sister was because she could have used the Light Elf as a bargaining chip to convince Axis to join her, but she was fine with either result.

Yet, they were both wrong; another flash of darkness occurred as he swung his sword, and within that instant, the magic cage was completely destroyed, yet the spirit of the Light Elf remained whole. Like a lost vessel at sea guided by the beacon of a lighthouse, the spirit returned to the body, and the Mana Corruption slowed to a halt.

Both twins were shocked by the result, but reacted differently in their responses.
