The Midnight Leave: What It Means to Be Human

To say that Demkil started off as an unknown country would be an understatement; since the kingdom originated within the Vacant Lands, it wasn’t even recognized as a country until 425 H.D. That was only a couple of years before all of Humankind was made aware of the existence of the Supernatural, which would mark the end of the Territorial Wars. Until then, Demkil was a secret place that almost no one outside of the Vacant Lands were aware of, but that secret lasted only a bit over ten years. The catalyst was another country that noticed a ship headed for the Vacant Lands and decided to investigate; this was the same nation that had prisoners becoming pirates in order to escape their sentences by sea.
