CHAPTER 47

As the Third Tier entered the city, the leftover rubble of the buildings served as obstacles in its path. Whether it chose to move around them or through them, they proved to slow the Titan down by at least a couple of seconds, allowing more knights to reach past the second line of defense. Within the second line was Third Seat Vigus of the Third Squad, acting as the commander of the defensive line, since he was the only Slayer included. As soon as the last survivor from the first line safely made it behind the second, he stepped in to close the gap, holding up his personalized shield while awaiting the Monster’s inevitable approach.

However, the Kaiju had done something unexpected; after charging through many of the obstacles already, it had grown impatient enough to attempt a large leap straight towards the defensive line!

“Oh, shit!” One of the knights shouted in a panic. “That much weight will break through our Mana Wall! We have to get out of here…!”
