The Midnight Leave: What It Means to Be Human

Within only a few hours, Demkil’s army reached the city of Tryaston, but the sun had dipped into the horizon and the sky had begun to darken. They needed their preparations done before they ran out of daylight; fortunately, the City Guards had already worked to evacuate the citizens, leaving the city empty upon the Slayers’ arrival. Therefore, all they needed to do was destroy the city before the Third Tier arrived. They tore down houses and shops, large and small, using the scrapped resources to fortify their lines of defense to the best of their ability. 


They also did it to open up more space for the cannons, catapults, and other various types of heavy weaponry, provided to them as aid from allied countries for such large-scale battles. There were even crossbow and harpoon turrets, recent inventions from the Trazer Kingdom in the far west, and along with all of the other foreign weapons, they were refined with Orichalcum.
