[Earlier, while the beach party was going on]

“AHHHHH!!!!” A girl with torn-up hair, cuts, bruises and bleeding all over screeched in a high voice; it was the summoner girl who had once attacked a normal along with others on the school blog.

Her entire house was a mess, and before her was the dead body of the bald man who usually helped her control ‘it.’

‘I’m in serious trouble,’ she thought. Deep down, something inside told her that she would finally lose this battle with the thing inside her, whether she liked it.

It had suddenly steered, with a more powerful hold and force on her; she had lost herself at least five times before barely managing to get back and for the 3rd time losing herself, she had killed her helper.

“Am doomed…am doomed….am so sorry mum, dad, am so sorry, hik….ah!!! Why? Why me?! Why?? AHHHH!!! I will never give in…never…till the last moment! I would rather die than give up my body to you, monster!!” She screamed as she walked out of her room.

The pain was so much; she felt like her soul was being crushed, and there was nothing more painful than that, which was probably why she zoned out plenty of times. She knew that she couldn’t hold up any more, the monster in her was getting stronger and stronger at each try, and she had to end this swiftly and perfectly.

She looked at herself in the mirror one last time and couldn’t even recognize herself any longer. Her lustrous, beautiful golden locks had turned into lumps of frizzy mess and baldness all over, her glimmering maroon eyes, usually brimming with liveliness, reduced into eyes filled with eternal darkness,

Her usual smooth and soft skin had turned to one filled with cuts and bruises, gross marks, scars left from constant healing and dried up, scaly skin probably due to malnutrition and abuse.

There wasn’t even an iota of her former self, talk more of a shadow. She was gone- Carlene Jay was gone forever, and it was all because of a stupid mistake!!

“I will forever hate you…..and myself, you goddamn monster!!” Carlene screeched as she flew straight out her window, half transformed with deformed wings.

It was almost too painful to endure, but she had been through a lot, so it was okay.

As the transformation was something from the soul, the fact that she could still transform even after all the torture was a miracle on its own,

It was like using a broken arm to fight while still raised to power 100, it was impossible, but she was doing it and suffering from the horrible pain it was causing her.

‘Not that I’ll still feel it anymore….goodbye world, I was too unlucky,’ She thought as she released her transformation, causing her to fall from the sky. Her peers were having fun on the beach, and she…was inexistent; the world was too unfair to her because she was leaving it anyway.

Holding her last shred of reasoning so the being within her won’t control her body, she successfully crashed onto the ground, killing herself in the process.

Or so she hoped.

Even a destroyed body still had seconds of life within it, and those seconds were more than enough for the monster within her to win.

“What an annoying human. Did she think I would let it end just like that? Even if you died, I’d use a zombified version of you with a few…adjustments.

But sheesh! How many years has it been? If it weren’t for the weakening of the world’s seal, then maybe it would have taken longer….thinking about it, what DID break the world’s seal?” The dead body, which had suddenly opened its eyes, muttered in amusement. “It doesn’t matter either; I have to hurry and finish what I started, or else when they get their memories and powers- it's game over. First things, let’s fix this body!”

Next was the bizarre sight of the dead body fixing itself. All joints and bones were neatly redone, and all ruined organs were fixed up like a cloth set by an excellent tailor.

After all….a body was but clothing to cover the real thing.

‘It’ burst into heavy laughter as it got up, all scars and bruises fixed, hair just as before, everything just as beautiful as before- but that wasn’t its true form.

“And now to transform,” ‘It’ muttered.

Bulging, growing, transforming into a body much more significant than it had now, it finally took its proper form turning into the very monster it was- the monster Carlene had feared would overtake her.

This battle was a lost cause but it wasn’t like she would ever know and maybe her never knowing was the world’s last ironic sympathy for her.

[Present time- at the graduates’ beach party]

It all started with a scream.

Suddenly, the entire students on the sea were washed up to the surface by a heavy force, but before anyone could understand what was going on, something gigantic appeared on the sea; not only was it enormous, but it was also terrifying.

They were all strong-willed kids, so they all made a coordinated escape. Anyone who was too terrified to move was helped up, but even at that, there was still chaos, mainly because it was too sudden.

The uproar forcefully awakened some dozing off while others on the farther side of the sea were in an extraordinary situation. The worst was the ones near the sea, including Jack and Jerry, who had just crawled out after their make-up section.

Everyone was running; they were all screaming. Neither the ancients nor Pures dared act on the pretense of power, as all were utterly suppressed by ‘it.’

With its horrible mutation, which had a female body as his upper half and its lower part….was many tentacles covering the entire sea, entreating dread. It didn’t hesitate to raise its tentacle to flick the poor mortals who got in its way to death like a human would an ant.

Although the emergency had been called and the strongest Pures would soon arrive to take down this thing,

And this time, both the ancients and Pures would have to work internationally together to defeat this abomination, the fact that many lives would probably be lost before that was terrifying.

“W-w..ha..t-t is th-tha…t?” Rita mumbled as all color from her face drained.

“Let’s run!” Jean said and dragged Rita off without a second thought, but then he suddenly remembered Jack and Jerry.

“Jerry!” Rita screeched as she glanced backward; for some reason, even in all the chaos, Jack and Jerry were as entirely still as if frozen in shock and worst of all, they were at the far front, right in front of the creature!

Others in the sea had managed to escape, but some unlucky ones were crushed by the monster as soon as it appeared, and the dreadful smell of death and fear filled the air.

Rita hurled but couldn’t vomit anything at all since she had skipped her morning meal, Jean patted her back worriedly before finally looking back at the duo.

Everyone else on the sea except them was dead, but they weren’t running away for some reason!

“What the hell are they doing?!” Jean screamed in frustration as he had to pause to think of something, there was no way he was letting his brother and friend die just like that.

His thoughts were caught off when the giant raised its tentacles, and it came crashing towards Jerry and Jack.

Everyone was still running in fear, and screams of terror were heard, but the two just stood there frozen as the ‘arm’ attacked them.

“Jack! Jerry!”

SLAM!

There was dead silence for a while before Rita muttered in terror as liquid freely ran down her cheeks.

“A-Are they…?”

Jean was silent and could only tighten his hold on Rita’s hands as he watched the dust clear out, the place had already been deserted, leaving them the only remaining groups, but no way was he leaving his brother and best friend alone to die!

The monster treated them as air, and all its attention was only on Jack and Jerry, as if it had only come for them…. this thought sent chills to the depth of his soul because this meant Jack and Jerry might never survive.

“Rita! Right now, I will give them all assistance I can meanwhile, you…take my phone and speak to my mum!” Jean said as he ran towards Jack and Jerry.

“Jean!” Rita shouted as she watched with worried eyes but soon snapped out of it and dialed Elen’s number.

Approaching forward, he saw a sight that stunned him. It was Jerry, the fact that his appearance had changed wasn’t the stunning part, what was…

“Is that…a barrier of….FLOWERS?!”
