W2 (19)

“Zero, I feel that Feral has become a bit tamer?” Dina thought out to Zero as they walked to the gnome ruins.

“It’s probably because you’ve learned to handle him more.”

After the meal, the king without a single delay allowed their entrance to the gnome ruins and now they were walking down to the vast expanses of the gnomes.

The gnomes were one of the most powerful creatures and even with their littleness they were bigger than all the races due to the insane creations they could make. Their most prominent being the golems which were so powerful they could even be made out as a sub-race of their own.

What’s more, was their consistent development which made the golems more modified and powerful but not only the golems but also their weapons which were so powerful that any who got their hands on one could actually dominate an entire state.

With such power, one would ask—why didn’t they consider world domination or shit like that?

Well, the gnomes were pretty chill individuals and all they’ve ever wanted was to chill out and create stuff.

‘Although, the gnomes were known to be more of a short-tempered race with anger issues so huge that literally almost all the races hated them. If not because of their gifts to the other races, with how much of a threat they had become along with their rudeness, they probably would have been attacked.’

“However Dina, the gnomes are very powerful and although it was merely theorized that they could conquer all the races if they wanted, you can’t deny that if actualized the possibility would be around 95.9%,” Zero stated.

“That makes sense why the races were walking on eggshells around them! Although, how could such a powerful race be wiped out all of a sudden?” Dina questioned.

“I believe that’ll be found sooner or later by the target Dina.”

“Oh well, I guess so!”

On crossing the boundary between the human race and gnome ruins which was like a cloudy fog just like the boundaries of the other races, Feral suddenly screamed as he felt his body descend when Genad instantly caught him, stopping his fall by holding him up by the waist.

Before he could flush up at such a suggestive position his eyes moved towards their surroundings and he was shocked silly.

“WOAH!”

They were finally in the gnome ruins, just the entrance was a rocky terrain filled with rocks about five feet tall arranged very close to each other with barely any space and covering up quite a vast expanse.

Looking ahead one could see that after the pile of rocks where the mountainous regions filled with huge mountains whose tips varnished into the sky and were covered with clouds and just like the rocky terrain were jam-packed together.

‘Then where the hell is the main thing even? I know we could fly but that guard will be a nuisance!’

However, Dina’s thought didn’t last for even a minute when the male standing on a rock suddenly gave a humble bow.

“Sirs!” he exclaimed, “I will be taking my leave, so please pardon my rudeness!”

“Of course, oh and report to the princess that I greatly appreciate her ‘gift’,” Genad responded cheerfully with a gleam in his eyes.

“!!”

“Yes sir!!”

And with that, their escort was gone.

Looking at Genad's absolutely relaxed face Dina couldn’t help but exclaim internally.

‘What the fuck?! Seriously? Another plot point I missed?! This is getting dangerous Zero!’

It was okay if it was one or two minor sub-plot but this was a freaking major that impacted the plot as a whole and that damned item of hers missed that too?! Why wasn’t she informed that Genad and the princess was close? What was his relationship with the princess?

Heck, could it be also possible that he had a relationship with Feral before?

‘…okay that’s just outlandish but…’

Dina sighed deeply as Zero reassured her of her safety, now she really wasn’t sure anymore. With so much hidden subplots slapping her cheeks left and right how could she feel safe? It wasn’t better that this was a fantasy world and the possibility of the riskiest thing in transmigration happening to one even higher.

If she wasn’t careful… she could possibly lose herself and her main identity in this job! The fact that there was a chance of her getting lost in this world with no memories or even fake ones while living as another person till the day she died! That was one of the most horrible risks of transmigration.

‘Because in the end, no matter how great it is to be so many people at the same time, losing one’s self in the process IS scary.’

“Won’t you hop on?”

Feral suddenly heard a voice calling out to him, it seemed that while he was being lost in thoughts Genad had already prepared the ride—Paws.

The cute little thing looked at him with worried blue eyes which softened Feral’s heart, it looked like his expression now had been too serious scaring the little thing.

“Now, now, Paws~ am fine okay? I was just lost in thoughts~ and I should probably call you another thing now since you’re no longer Paw eh~?” Feral joked and at seeing the feathery giant cutie wave his head about in disagreement he burst out laughing. “Okay! Okay! I’ll call you Feathers instead. No good? Fine! Fine! It's Paws in the end then!”

Genad watched as the male and giant eagle played around and couldn’t help but smile but his smile soon fell on thinking about Feral’s expression a few minutes ago. It was an expression of one who was shaken, anxious, and even more at full alert.

He never really thought of Feral as someone with deep motives but it seemed he was wrong. This child... was a bit suspicious.

/Ding! Awemeter decreased to 45%/

‘HUH?!’

What?! But why?!

With their ‘unique’ ventures in the human region the Awemeter had risen quite a bit but because she had snoozed Zero during the ‘sessions’ she only got to hear that in the morning while preparing to meet the king.

The meter had risen to 55% and she couldn’t be happier so why? Why did it suddenly decrease?!

“I think the male lead is suspicious of you,” Zero chipped in.

“Ugh! Of course, he’ll be, even Paws noticed then why wouldn’t he?! But to reduce like this…! Tsk! I really have to learn to always be alert, ayaa!”

“We should be leaving!” Feral chirped in with a nervous smile, better to drag him out of whatever he was thinking before the meter drops to zero. Now that would be horrible!

“Yes, you climb in first so I can keep you from falling and possibly dying,” Genad said leisurely causing Feral to stiffen at the casualness of his talk.

‘You didn’t have to phrase it like that!”

And with that, the duo climbed unto the dark-winged eagle as it flew away, deep into the gnome ruins for another phase of their journey to begin!

A/N: I'm sorry *kowtows in apology* for all my missed updates. My life's been a bit of a mess lately and I've been trying to fix it. Mostly because I started a new novel and all but I promise that I've stabilized! Which is why from now on I'm planning to update 4-5 times a week!

To all my readers out there who's been severely offended am so sorry (T⌓T) but when life hits you like a truck things get really difficult. I know I'm a very unreliable person (with the many MANY promises I broke) but I swear to do my best from now onwards! Wish me luck and do check out my blog~.
