Return Of A Friend

VALENTINA

___

I was tired, my breaths ragged, my legs aching from how fast I was running, how many thorns were cutting through my skin as I fought to even stop for a moment and breathe, but it didn't work.

I just couldn't stop.

It was as if I had been compelled.

I was further away from the tent now.

My thoughts were racing wildly and even as I tried to stop myself I saw something that made me glad my fear had ensured I had no control of my body.

Thank you, Adrenaline.

How could I ever be able to repay this gratitude, because a Wrath warrior was chasing after me and I was sure if it wasn't for my lack of control that was keeping me ahead, as I jumped over some branches and slicked through spaces, like I wasn't human, he would certainly have caught up to me by now.

I would most definitely pass out when this was over.

The wrath warrior seemed to be injured too.

For that, I was grateful.
