In the Hospital

Lin,

"Mommy, wait. I'll be back in a while. You stay with Min."

Two children sat on one side of the same room. Who are these two kids?

"Mmm... Mam, these two are my students. They've come to meet me. Lee Cheng and Lee Chang."

Looking into the eyes of these two children, it seemed as if they were angels. Both children greeted Lin's mother.

"Hello, Mam. My name is Cheng, Lee Cheng, and this is my brother, Lee Chang."

"Hello, cuties."

As Lin's mother observed these children, she sensed something different about them. Their eyes seemed to hold secrets, words unspoken.

"Hey, everybody..."

"Lin, bro..."

"Bro, is this the way to talk to elders?"

"Sorry, Mam."

"Shh, you're always scolding these children. I've told them to call me 'BRO.'"

"Yes, Mam..."

"But...?"

"But what?"

At that moment, everything felt harmonious. There was a lovely energy in the room. Laughter and happiness filled the air.

Yet, Lin's mother couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to these children. Their eyes held a story, a message.

Hours later, as Lin's mother left the room, the two kids stood waiting.

"Bye, babies..."

They held her hand, tears in their eyes. "Please take care of our Mam. We've never seen her so happy before. After a few days, we'll have to leave."

Lin's mother was shocked. Why were these laughing children now crying? Why did they have to leave?

Lost in their eyes, she wanted to ask questions, but the words wouldn't come.

"Okay, babies. I'll take care of your teacher and Lin."

"Thanks, Mam. And please don't tell this to the Mam right now."

As Lin's mother returned home, she pondered the mysterious encounter. Why couldn't she say anything at that moment? What secrets did those children's eyes hold?
