CHAPTER14: THE BATTLE WITH THE VILLAGE WITCH.

CHAPTER14: THE BATTLE WITH THE VILLAGE WITCH.

Two weeks after the reappearance of the child(Orkumaga), Mr. Martins and his wife (Dooter) had scheduled to visit Dooter's parents.

While on the way going. The little baby (Orkumaga) who was always chuckling started whimpering. He whimpered with them throughout but none of them understood the reason he was whimpering.

As they were about to swerve to the village road, their car spoiled but without knowing the reason, they called the mechanical engineer who was by the road side to come and check the car to see if there was a fault but after checking, the mechanical engineer said there was nothing wrong with the car. Mr. Martins then told his wife Dooter that they have to pray and she agreed and immediately, they held their hands and prayed.

Few minutes after the prayer, Mr. Martins entered the car again and started it but this time, it responded and they entered and began to go. While going on the road, they reached a place where there was a small forest and then, they saw something like a bear confidently standing in the middle of the road without being scared of the car hitting it but Mr. Martins did not panicked and continued going but as he was about heating the beast, it disappeared. No sign of the car crashing with the beast but at that time the little Orkumaga was busy sleeping. So, they continued going.

When they arrived village, Dooter's parent immediately on seen them came out dancing and praising God for their daughter but the 2 did not rushed to tell them what happened while they were coming on the road.... They allowed them to celebrate their grand son throughout the night but early in the morning the following day, Mr. Martins sat his father and mother in-laws down and told them what happened while they were on the way coming to the village but his father in-law Ayaaga told him that, it must have been the same woman who had once cursed his daughter but immediately he mentioned the woman, he began to tremble.... No one knew what happened so they held him and began to ask him what happened but he was not able to talk.

While Orkumaga and Mrs. Mzamber were still wielding Ayaaga, they saw old woman coming to the house but none of them said any thing as they were still

busy struggling to revive Ayaaga's life.

As the sorcerer reached the house, she greeted them and entered inside the hut.

While they were still struggling with Ayaaga, she told them to leave Ayaaga and alone and immediately, she called his name, he stopped trembling and became normal.

After she saved Ayaaga, she told them that, she heard that Dooter had given birth to a handsome baby boy but while she was about visiting, she again heard that the child had disappeared without knowing how it happened.

When she said that, Mrs. Mzamber wanted to talk but because of fear, she nodded and said to her that, even them, they were waiting for the child to be brought for them to see before he disappeared but again, thanked God for bringing him back.

The woman after healing, she asked them what happened to Ayaaga but they said to her that they don't know.

The vicious woman having terrible plans for the baby, she told them to leave Ayaaga. She thanked them and asked Dooter to give the child to her to hold but even though Dooter and her parents were not happy to give the child to the sorcerer, they were not courageous to say no and so, they handed the little Orkumaga to the woman. As she held the baby, she began shrieking and begging them to take back their child saying that, the child was hot like fire.

Immediately Dooter collected her child back, The sorcerer left the house without even saying a word to them.... No one knew what happened so they all

confessed that, truly what the old man had said is becoming a reality and they all agreed and thanked the old man for being the savior of their family and also admitted that if not for him, the woman would have finished them and their child.

Days after the woman had tried harming the baby but failed, they heard she was sick but no one of them agreed to visit her.

Mr. Martins after few days, told his wife (Dooter) that, they had to go back and she agreed. They informed Ayaaga and Mrs. Mzamber about their plans to go back to Lagos and they all agreed and prayed for them before they left the village to Lagos the following morning.
