In his line of sight, a young boy was approaching them at a great speed while jumping from one tree to another.
Park Sun-jae couldn't believe what he was seeing. Even more so, he was confused at the moment.
'What is he doing here? I thought this area was off-limits for students.' He thought to himself while wondering about this person who appeared here out of nowhere.
"Hey, Park Sun-jae, what's wrong? Did you see anything?" Kim Jae-hoon shouted from below after seeing his friend in a daze.
His loud voice woke the ghost from his trance and he came to his senses. He immediately rushed towards Kim Jae-hoon and warned him.
"Hide! There's a person approaching us at a great speed."
Upon hearing that, the young man raised his eyebrows. "A person? Isn't that a good thing then! We can ask that person for help."
"You don't get it. I know this person. It might get troublesome if we come in contact with each other."
Kim Jae-hoon sighed. "I don't know what's going on. But I'll trust you this once."
Both of them didn't waste any time and hide behind the bushes in a sitting manner while making less sound as possible.
And as soon as they went into hiding, the unknown person landed on the ground and revealed its face in front of the duo.
It was a young boy with grey hair and had a physique similar to Kim Jae-hoon. To top it off, he was handsome and was well dressed to look more like a son from a noble family. Also, there was a blue fox crest embroidered on the right chest of his shirt showcasing some sort of symbol and he had a sword with a hilt attached to his left waist.
'It's really a person!' he thought to himself.
Kim Jae-hoon never imagined he could see a living person in the woods until he arrived to the city. So, this came out as a surprise.
According to his ghost friend, no one comes to this section of the forest normally. Not because the monsters are powerful or something but the population of the monsters in this area is very high. Due to that reason, the survivability rate is the lowest if you don't come in with a group of at least hundred men to hunt.
It was a miracle how Kim Jae-hoon survived thus far in this dangerous place without getting killed. It was also thanks to the poison powder he obtained by chance which helped him greatly in his venture of avoiding the beasts so far.
It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that he was extremely lucky so far, considering the odds against him.
After landing to the place where these two people were hiding somewhere, the mysterious young boy looked around.
"I know you're around somewhere. Stop wasting my time and come out." The young boy spoke out loud.
"I guess he already sensed your presence when he was approaching." Park Sun-jae said.
'You're right. Since he already know I'm here, dragging this matter any longer will put me in a difficult situation.' Kim Jae-hoon whispered as he made up his mind to come out and greet him.
But before he could make a move, the young boy was attacked by something as he dodged it reflexively.
When he successfully evaded the attack, he looked at the direction where a certain creature was standing before him. Upon looking carefully, he could see a white rabbit with pink ears sneering its teeth towards him as if the animal was smiling at its prey. Coincidentally, it was the same rabbit that they saw yesterday who was fighting with the giant bear.
The young boy immediately unsheathe his sword after detecting the dangerous aura around the rabbit and put up the defensive stance. Upon seeing his actions, the rabbit put his guard up too. And no more than a minute later, they charged against each other with the intent to kill.
The beast used his claws to attack the boy while the latter used the blunt side of the sword to stop it midway. Afterwards, they both took a distance from each other before attacking again. Their movements were so fast that one couldn't see what was going on with normal eyes.
On the other hand, Kim Jae-hoon and Park Sun-jae were shocked to see that the monster they encounter a day ago, caught up to them so fast.
"How the hell did this beast get here so fast and why? I thought it didn't sense us back then." The young man panicked.
"I guess we were wrong. Also, judging by its agility shown in the fight yesterday, it is possible that he can caught up to us no matter how fast we run." The ghost replied.
"What should we do then?"
"For now, let's run away from here and head towards our destination. We still have a chance to get away from the beast while it is occupied with the young boy right now. Once we cross the river, the rabbit won't be able to chase us because of the barrier and we will be safe from any dangers. Let's go."
After he finished talking to Kim Jae-hoon, Park Sun-jae turned around and started walking towards the direction where they came from.
However, he noticed that Kim Jae-hoon wasn't following him and kept watching the fight from the sidelines. While both the parties were desperately trying to beat each other, Kim Jae-hoon had a frown on his face as he watched.
"What are you doing? Let's go!" The ghost insisted.
"We have to help him. That person is in danger because of me."
"What are you talking about?"
"If the rabbit hadn't marked me back then because of my carelessness, it wouldn't have followed my trail until now. And this innocent young boy got caught up in my created mess unknowingly. Therefore, I must help him defeat that monster even if it puts my life at risk.
"Are you insane? That kid is a spirit master unlike you. If you get involved, you'll only be getting his way. Worst case scenario, you will die. Moreover, I know that boy very well. He's extremely strong and witty. He will be able to hold on his own against that terrifying monster."
"You saw that rabbit's fighting way, right? It isn't even fighting with his full strength yet. It is a matter of time until that young boy dies fighting that monster. He doesn't even know that it can shoot acid through its mouth. I'm going. I need to warn him." He said with a determined face as he got up and came out of the bushes while walking towards them.
