Chapter 8. Are you really just going to blatantly accuse me?

Asami was dumbfounded, the atmosphere suddenly became tense as everyone on the table looked at Katsu and Asami staring at each other like they both wanted to blast the other into oblivion.

Asami squinted her eyes and said "When did I brag? I was simply answering yoichi's question."

Katsu glared at her and said "You were bragging, saying things like 'I'm fluent and I came from the holidays in America' that's what you said, unlike Naomi who was absolutely humble"

Asami almost laughed, did this dude even pay attention to what she had said? He even praised Naomi all in one sentence.

She looked into his eyes with indifference.

"I didn't say that, neither did I brag. I think the real reason you're ticked off is because you're jealous"

Katsu didn't say anything after that. He picked up his tray and dumped it into the bin, walking off in anger.

Asami sighed before noticing the entire cafeteria looking at her table, specifically staring at her. Did they all witness that? She groaned in annoyance. There goes her plan of being inconspicuous…

Asami looked at the table members staring at her as well. Now she felt guilty for creating a scene.

"I'm sorry, you all had to see that. I sincerely apologise." She had said that even though she hadn't felt one ounce of remorse. She was the one blatantly accused for god's sake.

"It's alright Asami-san, I'm sure you didn't mean to hurt his feelings" Naomi had a soft expression on her face, her pink eyes once again sparkling like an anime character.

It made Asami feel inferior. So this was the true power of the MC? She looked at Naomi and nodded in thanks.

"Alright I think we should head back to class, no Yoichi?"

Her expression said 'let's get outta here' and Yoichi quickly caught on.

"Yea, didn't you have to help me with my science homework?"

Asami nodded and they both quickly got up, grabbing their bags in the process. Asami and Yoichi bid the table farewell and left.

They both walked in silence back to the classroom. Until Yoichi spoke up.

"You were pretty cool back there huh? Unlike the shy girl I met yesterday" he said teasingly.

"Shut up"

"Haha, no but seriously, you handled that situation pretty well considering he's a Takhashi"

So everyone calls him Takhashi Katsu? Do they know he's in the mafia or do they just think he's rich? Probably the latter since the Takhashis kept it pretty well hidden in the game until we got to see his past.

"What's so important about his family name?" She said, feigning confusion.

"Ah you don't know? He's from a really rich family, like filthy rich. I heard a rumour saying in his previous school, when someone pissed him off, they weren't seen ever again"

"That's just a rumour, I'm sure it isn't true" she said calmly, rolling her eyes in the process.

"I don't know~ he may just come for you in your sleep" said Yoichi making a weird expression and waving his hands around crazily.

He sure was eccentric.

"Stop it, your scaring me for no reason" said Asami as they both sat down in their seats, ready for the next period.

"Alright, alright I'll stop." He said stopping his attempt at annoying her.

Classes progressed as usual and soon it was time to go home.

Asami and Yoichi walked to the gates and were about to go their separate ways until they heard a voice telling them to stop.

Asami saw in the distance Naomi trying to catch up to them. She patiently waited for her as did Yoichi.

Naomi, finally catching up said

"Yoichi-san, Asami-san I wanted to ask you both something!"

"uh go ahead." She said standing in an awkward stance.

what…I…wanted..to say was…"

"Catch your breath first" said Yoichi chuckling softly.

Naomi nodded eagerly and started breathing slowly. Asami thought she looked really cute! Wait, focus here, she has to ask you something…

"Could we possibly be friends?" Naomi asked in a sincere voice.

Before Asami could respond, Yoichi spoke up.

"Sure we can, Naomi-san! You didn't even have to ask! Anyway I have to go, see you guys!"

Naomi nodded and smiled.

Yoichi walked off, Naomi and Asami waving at him until he was gone into the distance.

Now only they were left. Naomi waiting patiently for Asami's answer and Asami thinking how she got into this situation. How did she, an irrelevant side character get the attention of the MC?

Asami mentally cried before she replied to Naomi

"We can be…friends"

Naomi was overjoyed! She grabbed Asami's hand and thanked her multiple times.

"oh I'm so happy you agreed! Can we hug?"

Asami slowly nodded and Naomi enveloped her into a big hug.

Asami could smell the faint smell of lavender perfume and the smell of something sweet coming from Naomi. Naomi looked up at Asami, her brown hair in front of her eyes.

Asami unconsciously reached out and moved the hair from her view to see Naomi smiling cutely with a soft blush.

They both bid their farewells and left. Asami was in a daze as she walked home. When she got home she fell on the floor and couldn't stop her blush from rising to her cheeks.

The MC…was so freaking adorable! How…can this be humanely possible! The best part is now she was this adorable creatures friend!

She jumped on her bed and kept giggling like a maniac. Ah she was going to sleep peacefully today.

Her happiness was so intense she completely forgot the incident with Katsu and would probably regret it later…

For now she would sleep peacefully, unaware of the dangers she would have to face in the near future…
