Chapter 16 "Are you sure he's your friend?"

Da-eun gave Aldo a snack and she ate some... they were eating quietly.. but they were also feeling a litte awkward as Noah kept staring at them..

He sat there right in front of Aldo and stared at him as he kept eating snacks.. it seemed as if Noah was counting how many snacks he ate?

After a few minutes Da-eun felt that she couldn't take it anymore and she broke the silence as she scolded Noah "Okay.. I guess it's enough Noah.. why do you keep staring at Aldo?"

Aldo heaved a sigh of relief when Noah finally averted his gaze to look at Da-eun...

Noah looked at Da-eun and narrowed his eyes "What? I was just looking at how he was eating quietly.. And I was thinking about his dining etiquettes.. Are you sure he's your friend?"

Da-eun felt confused at his sudden interest in her friend... and there was no connection at all to Aldo's eating etiquettes and him being her friend.. she found it odd..

She furrowed her brows and asked "What do you mean by that? What's the connection between him being my friend and etiquettes? And to answer your question, yes, he is my friend.."

Noah narrowed his eyes and turned to again look at Aldo.. from his investigation, he knew that Da-eun only had ordinary friends..

But now that he looked at Aldo.. he was certain, with the dining etiquettes, that Aldo was not someone ordinary..

'What's his purpose in befriending Da-eun? I must find out..' Noah was thinking about the possibilities..

While Aldo felt like he was in some kind of an investigation room... He looked at Noah and thought that he was someone who should not be underestimated because of his age and looks..

Aldo quickly finished the drink and stood up from the couch.. He smiled and said to Da-eun "Umm.. I think I should get going now.. it's getting late.." with that he looked at Noah and nodded his head and headed towards the door..

Da-eun also stood up and said to Noah, while following Aldo "I'll see him out.."

Noah looked at her as she followed him in a hurry.. He usually had a serious and cold face.. so, no one could tell what he was thinking about or even if he was actually thinking.. because normally people only thought of him as an ordinary little kid.. very few people knew about his true mental age..

Da-eun followed Aldo out of the house.. Aldo stopped when he got out and saw Da-eun, who came out after him and stood beside him..

She looked up into his eyes apologetically and said "I'm sorry about what Noah said.. please don't mind him.. he is after all only a kid.. I hope you understand.."

Aldo looked at her and thought that she looked cute.. he felt a strong urge to pinch her cheeks, but he controlled it..

He shook his head and said in a soft voice "You don't need to worry about it Eunaa.. I know that he's a kid and I understand that I shouldn't take his words to heart.. so, you don't have to feel sorry about it.. I actually liked him.. he seems to be a smart kid for his age.. haha.."

Aldo said that on the surface but in his heart he was quite sure that Noah was not your ordinary seven year old kid.. He'd have to beware of him in the future..

It was already dark outside.. And from where Aldo looked at her, the dim light outside made her look beautiful as she smiled at him, with her eyes shining bright..

It was the second attack on him, from an oblivious Da-eun.. he was becoming more and more attracted to her smiling face..

While they were talking, Francis parked the car in front of her house and waited quietly for Aldo to get inside..

Aldo looked at the phone and found that it was getting late.. so he said to Da-eun "I had a great time with you today.. and also with Noah.. he's quite good with video games.. I'd like to play more games with him in the future if he doesn't mind.."

Da-eun chuckled at what he said "Hehe.. you are welcome anytime.. you can come here and play with him.."

Aldo nodded his head and bid his goodbyes.. He got inside the car and after a few seconds the car drove away..

Da-eun watched as the car went farther.. she then went inside and closed the door after her..

Da-eun walked to the living room to ask Noah about his behavior earlier.. but he was nowhere to be seen.. "He must've gone to his room.. i should go there and talk to him about earlier.." she mumbled to herself..

She climbed the stairs and went to the room on the second floor.. that was her room only yesterday and now it belonged to someone else..

Standing outside the door she knocked and waited for him to open it.. but there was no response from the other side of the door..

"He must've gone to the bathroom.. I should wait a bit more before knocking again.." She mumbled and waited there..

After waiting for two more minutes she knocked again.. but again there was no response.. she pressed her ear against the door to hear any kind of noise but to no avail..

She furrowed her brows and opened the door without any hesitation.. walking inside she called out his name "Noah.. Noah.. Are you there in the bathroom?" she asked as she knocked on the bathroom door..

But Da-eun didn't hear any reply or any kind of noise from inside.. she opened the door to make sure, and surely he was not there..

"Where'd he go in such a short period of time.. I only walked Aldo to his car and came back within a few minutes.. I should ask Elio.." After that she walked down the stairs with quick steps, almost missing a few in a hurry..

She called out his name with an urgency in her voice "Elio..

Elio came quickly and saw that Da-eun looked a little worried about something.. so he asked in a hurry "What happened miss? why do you look so worried? Is there anything I can help you with? please feel free to ask me anything?"

Elio asked questions one after another.. he looked at Da-eun, who was looking around the house and finally told him her concern "Did you see Noah? I went to his room but he was not there.. and I didn't check others because I know that he doesn't like to go to any other room.. I'm just worried because he's just a kid after all.."

She continued after a pause "Where'd he have gone to? what if something happened to him? Elio, you should go and check on him.. go outside and see if he went out to play.. and get him back here.."
