Chapter 38 "Legend about Double power source"

"It's good to know that you finally found someone that can be called your real family.. I'm happy for you.. and please be safe.. I'll be waiting for you come back and participate in the sports festival.." Said Yuna who was feeling happy and excited for her friend..

Da-eun heard her and said with a smile "Yeah.. I'll try to come back before the sports festival.. and please help me make notes for the days that I'd be absent from school.. I still have to get the first place this time.." Da-eun asked Yuna to help her in her studies as she recalled that little monster's threat.. she felt like it was going to be very difficult for her this time..

She hadn't even opened a single book in the last few days and it was giving her a headache to even think about maintaining the current position.. Only god knows how she's gonna get the first position that she had so proudly declared to get in front of that little human.. Da-eun was deeply regretting it as she covered her face with her hands and tried her best to think of a way..

Whereas, Noah and his grandfather were still sitting in the living room discussing..

Noah asked the question that he had in his mind for a long time "Grandpa.. you and dad said that only her eyes were the sign of her powers awakening.. but what is it with her hair? And also that strong aura that came out of her stomach? As far as I know all the cultivators have their power source in the middle of their head.. but why does she have two of them?"

Noah recalled how Da-eun's hair turned purple and the aura that seeped out of her from two different places.. he was puzzled and wanted to know more about this unique situation… As far as he knew this kind of situation never occurred before..

Noah looked at his grandfather for answers and waited patiently.. he saw that his grandfather seemed he was contemplating something in his mind.. his eyes were deep and eyebrows furrowed.. After a while he finally raised his head and spoke "Child.. you are right about cultivators having only one power source.. but, there was one legend that also had two power sources when that person was born ten thousand years ago.."

Noah heard what his grandfather said and his eyes narrowed.. he wanted to know more about this legend that was exceptional just like Da-eun.. "Who was that grandpa? And why haven't I heard about it before today?"

His grandfather looked at him and gave him a weak smile and said "It's not that I wanted to hide it from you.. There's a book that's passed down from generation to generation, to every clan head… and there's written only in a single page about this legend.. but it's only for the clan head.. there's a simple warning written in that 'Until there's another one born with double power sources, Everyone's prohibited from talking about it.' So every clan head knows about it but is prohibited to speak about it.. that's the reason nobody other than the clan head knows about it.."

Noah sat there looking at his grandfather with his eyes that were sharp and cold from thinking about all the possibilities.. only after a while he opened his mouth to speak his mind "So, nobody knows about her having a double power sources till now right?"

His grandfather knitted his brows, his eyes turning cold.. he said "It's highly likely that they don't know about it yet.. because if they knew, we'd have been attacked a long time ago.. so it can be said that they've yet to find out.. and from the way things are, we can't hide it for long.. I'll ask your father to get the concealment pearl from our old house tomorrow.. other than that we can't do anything before we find her grandfather.."

Grandfather Einar was worried about the inevitable that could befall them anytime, if they were even a single bit careless.. he knew that it was a good thing and a bad thing at the same time for Da-eun.. she'd have a bright future but at the same time she'd have to keep it hidden from everyone.. otherwise it'd be disaster.. the same thing that happened ten thousand years ago to that legend would repeat itself to Da-eun.. he had to make thorough preparation before they leave..

Noah heard his grandfather mention the concealment pearl and he knew that he was not joking about getting attacked.. the concealment pearl was a sacred divine artifact.. there were only three in this whole world.. and one was with his grandfather.. it was passed down from generation to generation in there family to the family head.. no one knew about it.. it was only sensible to keep it hidden, to keep the people becoming envious and trying to snatch it away from them and hurting them in the process..

Noah understood the severity of the situation and nodded his head before asking "I'm still a little bit confused about why people would attack if they knew about the double power sources of hers? It's not like they can extract it from her body or something?" he wanted the last sentence to be statement but when he looked at his grandfather's sullen expression his statement turned into a question.. he got confused more and more as he got to know more about this rarity..

Grandfather Einar looked at his grandson's soft face and sighed before speaking "You are right.. nobody can take out the power source form our body.. because it is in out head.. and if someone tried to take it out for themselves it was next to impossible.. Because if someone opened the head to take it out the person will die.. and the power source will also die with them.."

Grandfather Einar paused and contemplated about continuing or not.. but then he looked at his grandson, who he doted on the most, and decided to tell him about this important thing for his safety.. "There was a person ten thousand years ago, that person killed many people to take their power sources from their body.. but stilled failed.. later that person was banished to get punishment for their heinous crimes.. After that no one was allowed to talk about it.. and soon it also became a legend and myth for the common folk.."

As Noah kept listening, he realized that there were many things that he still didn't know.. he thought about what his grandfather said and felt that if someone really tried to get to do that again, it'd be very hard for them to protect Da-eun who had double power sources..

As if something suddenly clicked in his mind Noah asked abruptly "But grandpa.. if someone tried to get the power source from her stomach, they might succeed.. because a person can still stay alive with their stomach cut open.." Noah felt his eyes turning cold as realization hit him.. the situation was even more dangerous then it looked..
