Jellyfish?

Tejumole glanced briefly at the two people lying on the ground. She then stood up and walked away.

She distanced herself further and further away from the carnage, edging closer to the entrance gate with every step she took.

When she stepped out of the estate, she turned around to look at it. The majestic white gates were wide open and there was a penetrating silence in the air. Not even the basic sounds of the nocturnal creatures could be heard.

It was then that two familiar voices broke the fragile veil of calmness.

"Well done host. You have once again completed your mission with ample time to spare. Woo-hoo~"

"Hmm. Congratulations Teejay. And to think you actually toyed with them. What happened to not doing unimportant things during missions, mhm?"

Ranta and Aanu both celebrated her accomplishment, but Tejumole remained indifferent. She didn't feel proud, nor did she feel happy at completing the mission.

Rather, she felt numb toward the situation. She glanced at the words floating in front of her. Only then did she feel a little satisfied. Now, her profile looked like this;

Tejumole had reaped a lot from this mission. She was actually feeling giddy on the inside. However, she calmed her excitement and responded to the two in her usual tone of voice.

"Well, I won't be doing that again. I wasted so much time by trying to "have fun". Sure enough, one shouldn't give in to peer pressure. Don't put such ideas in my head again. The both of you."

"Hey!"

"We were trying to help…!"

Tejumole ignored the two chatterboxes and activated her skill. With the upgrade, she could teleport quite a far distance. Though it was impossible to teleport directly into her house and she was bound to be exhausted, it would get her far away from this place. And away from the later event.

"Teleportation."

Tejumole vanished from her spot, leaving the desolate estate behind. A minute later, there were sounds of explosions coming from inside. Then the estate was covered in raging flames which appeared controlled as they didn't spread out of the boundary of the property.

And thus, with the bright amber flames fanning across the entire property, the Erujeje terrorist group's four decades of destruction and tyranny came to a conclusive end.

•••

Lying on the couch was a female figure wearing thick, patterned loungewear. She covered her face with her arm and stayed motionlessly in place. There was music playing in the background. Something about falling in love with a ghost.

A moment later, Tejumole dropped her arm and stared up at the ceiling.

A few seconds later, she turned on her sides and glanced at the table.

Seemingly finding the sound annoying, she took the remote and muted the speaker. After which she threw the remote carelessly on the table.

Following her actions, Tejumole sat upright on the black, leather couch and leaned back lazily.

She took her phone by the side and double-tapped it to check the time, which read 2:18 pm.

Again, she tossed her phone away and closed her eyes to rest.

The clueless electronic devices that had been rough handled by their owner stayed side by side as the room became engulfed in silence.

2:19 pm

2:20 pm

2:25 pm

Time passed and Tejumole remained in this position. Her chest heaved up and down as she breathed.

She looked so peaceful with her relaxed face and the long braids spread on the couch. At this moment, she could be called a sleeping beauty.

However, in the next second…

"Ranta, come out. I'm bored…"

Tejumole opened her eyes and spoke with a slight whine in her voice. She sighed once, then twice and continued sighing until Ranta came out from the system space.

"Host, you called~" Ranta appeared instantly, but his current appearance caused Tejumole to twitch her lips.

She glanced at Ranta from top to bottom and then from side to side. After pursing her lips, she asked him with narrowed eyes in an inquisitive tone.

"…what are you supposed to be?"

Ranta looked…soft. He looked like an umbrella with tiny strings sticking out of it. There were two round globes of green on his body, and they curved up as they gazed at her.

His looks reminded her of a certain deep sea creature, but she couldn't be certain. Because apart from the green balls attached to him, which she figured to be his eyes, there were yellow polka dots all over his body. Green eyes, a black surface and yellow polka dots. Tejumole felt that every day was a surprise whenever Ranta appeared.

"I'm a jellyfish host~ Look at my legs. I have so many! Go on, touch it~"

"No."

Tejumole slapped the string-like legs away and rejected him immediately. How could that thing be a jellyfish? What kind of jellyfish has polka dots or is painted black or even has eyes?

She should have gotten used to Ranta's, unique choice of fashion, but every time she saw him her views would get reversed all over again.

'Sigh… it's not the first time anyways.'

She sighed and raised her head to glance at the floating blob. The more she looked at him, the more she wanted to smack him.

'Aanu should be the one here now…'

While restraining her urge to beat up a certain S.A.I., she quickly said her reason for making Ranta leave the space.

"I'm bored."

"Okay."

"Entertain me."

Ranta: "…"

Ranta almost tripped on his legs and fell to the floor. And he was floating.

She really asked him to entertain her. What is this weird trope? The overbearing CEO makes her pet follow her wishes?

Humph! This S.A.I is a sophisticated lifeform. I will not be reduced to a jester!

This was what he thought, but Ranta felt his resolve waver when he saw his host continue to stare at him.

He shivered under her gaze and quickly suggested an alternative to save his jelly skin.

"Um…host. Beautiful, charming host. It's that time of the month. And I feel uncomfortable. So, I won't be able to fulfil your request. However…!"

Ranta spoke with two of his legs in front of him. He twisted them and raised a third one quickly when Tejumole raised her brows, like he was swearing a pledge.

"…if you're tired of staying at home. Why not go to the supermarket? You've run out of foodstuffs, and you really can't keep eating noodles and junk food. It's bad for your health. Even if you're not worried, think about your child. He's a growing young man, and he needs plenty of nutrients to grow stronger."

Tejumole didn't want to listen to him at first, but when he spoke about Haoyu she couldn't help but lower her head in contemplation.

Ranta heaved a relieved sigh and wiped his nonexistent sweat from his nonexistent brows.

'Looks like I'm saved. He-he, she won't bother me anymore now that I brought up Haoyu. I'm a genius!'

Ranta snickered to himself, rubbing his hands together like a mischievous villain. He gave a fake cough and decided to give another suggestion.

"Host."

"Hmm"

"Why don't you make something for the child? I'm certain he would love that. Take it as a…as rewarding him for being a good child."

Tejumole placed a hand under her chin and leaned forward, drawing closer to Ranta.

"Really? Do you mean cook? But, I haven't cooked anything in years."

"Oh, don't worry about that. With today's technology, even a baby can learn how to cook. Everything you need is on UTube. You can find any recipe you want online. You just need to follow the steps."

"Okay."

After responding, Tejumole stood up and walked to her room, the dotted jellyfish following after her.

Once she reached the room, she carried a few clothes from her closet.

Wearing a baggy top with black trousers, she placed a head warmer on her head after a thought. It rained earlier today, so the weather was a little chilly. She wanted to avoid wearing something thicker like a cardigan, therefore she opted for a head warmer and socks along with her sneakers.

"You look great, host!"

Tejumole nodded and left the room soon after. She placed her phone in her pocket and carried the keys from the hangar.

Ranta had returned to the space already. Tejumole then left the house and drove her car out of the compound.

Ah, this day would be an unforgettable one for everyone concerned.
