Kate went to bed hungry.

The next day she dressed up and left the house to go to a nearby cafe that she used to frequent while in high school.

She sat down on a chair and ordered something to drink.

After having her caffeine, she left the cafe and sat down at the bus stop, watching as several people goes on and about without even caring to look at her.

"Hi," a voice said to her and she raised her head to see a blonde girl staring at her.

The girl doesn't look American.

"Hi,"

"Do you mind if I sit here with you?" The foreign girl asked and Kate nodded her head.

"I am Natasha Carson but you can call me Tash, what's your name?" The girl asked.

"Hi Tash, I am Kate Bai. You can call me Kate." Kate responded. Tash smiled at her and handed over a wrapped hamburger to her.

Kate glanced at her for a while before taking the hamburger quietly.

She was surprised and scared as to why the beautiful stranger was talking to her and even giving her food.

"You looked lost just now, is something going on with you? Would you like to share what it is all about?" Tash asked her.

Kate stared at her for a while, not knowing what to say to Tash. She was confused.

The beautiful stranger wanted to share in her burden but she doesn't know if she should or not.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to judge you. Try me, I am a good listener."

Kate smiled as she bite into her hamburger.

She couldn't remember the last time she last smiled.

Tash was a good influence on her.

Tash seems like a nice person.

It's not like she can tell anyone she knows about it.

" I am a widow, I know it's funny. I mean I'm only twenty-four years old but I'm already a widow. I got married when I was eighteen to my husband. Our marriage lasted for seven years before he died. His family doesn't want me so I came back to my father's house.

My family doesn't like me and to top it all, I am in love with my sister Elena's boyfriend." Kate chuckled softly and bit on her hamburger before continuing. "Even though she first saw him, the nine years old me fell in love with him.

He is a billionaire, well known all over the world and so much more handsome than I could ever imagine. I want to be with him, but how can I be with someone that doesn't acknowledge me anymore? How can I be thinking about another man when my husband hasn't been gone for a year? I am cruel..... Very cruel."

Tears rolled down Kate's eyes and Tash provided a handkerchief for her.

She was feeling guilty and relieved at the same time.

How could she have said all those things to a mere stranger?

What if it was a trap that someone set for her and she ended up falling for it.

"I don't think this is something to judge yourself with. I mean... I have seen a lot of girls that fell in love with their stepbrothers. We can't control who we love. You being in love with your sister's boyfriend and you berating yourself for being like this when it hasn't been long since your husband died is not sick, it's what makes you human. Don't blame yourself.

Imagine keeping such things to yourself for sixteen years, that must have been hard for you." Tash said and shook her head.

Kate absorbed what Tash just said. She has never had a friend to share her secrets with or tell her problems. She never had anyone.

Talking to Tash felt like a breath of fresh air but she knows that when the next bus arrives she will be leaving her.

"Do you want to be friends? Since I came to Beijing I haven't made any friends. I think we click so well and we will be best friends soon. what do you think? Kate?" Tash asked.

Kate was flabbergasted, to say the least. She was dumbfounded.

The beautiful foreigner wanted to be her friend.

The first friend she was going to make was a foreigner.

"I would love that, where are you from exactly?." She inquired.

"Yes, I'm from Sydney in Australia," Tash responded with a smile.

"Today on the 26th of August 2019, Natasha Carson officially became friends with Kate Bai. We will last forever." Tash said with a full lips smile.

"We will last forever," Kate said as well with a smile on her face.

Tash has succeeded in making her happy and that was what she needed in a friend.

Someone who would support her and makes her happy.

That was the tea.

The day was running late, Kate and her new friend exchanged numbers before leaving the park earlier in the day since then she has been reminiscing on their conversation.

Tash seem like someone she could trust and she wanted a friend so it was a good opportunity for her to have one friend for herself.

Kate was at the swimming pool, she was wearing a red bikini and wore a robe to hide her body.

There were still bruises on her body and she wouldn't want her family to see them.

She has never told anyone of them how her life was with Yang Feng.

Whenever she was asked about him she called him a sweet husband.

She doesn't want Elena to laugh at her and so she had to lie.

But Elena had the last and the best laugh. President Wang of Wang's tech is her boyfriend and she is the smart, intelligent, and sophisticated daughter of a businessman.

Of course, Kate knew that she doesn't stand a chance against her.

Elena was the best and will always remain the same.

"You can give up now, Kate Bai" she whispered to herself.

But she wouldn't. She was a fighter who has overcome even the unthinkable. She was certain that this trial would pass by like everyone else.
