Kneading the Dough

"Why don't you have faith in the lord?"

"He sacrificed himself for you. He spent too much time at the South Manor, so—"

"Poplar!" Sea scolded her sister. It was how close they were, calling each other their sister. But she couldn't help when Poplar started reciting the reasons without filtering them.

"Continue," Chiaki's face showed no expression.

Poplar shrunk in her seat. She realised it too late that the person opposite her was still the ex-Guardian. She could blast her away with only snapping her fingers.

"M- my lady, I'm sorry, I didn't mean that . . ."

Chiaki waved her hand. "I have no authority here anymore. I can stay in this beautiful mansion just because the lord allows me. If you want to speak anything about me, go ahead. I need your honesty."
